As usual,The French Gourmet did not disappoint. We had our usual table for four in the corner and enjoyed Calves Liver and onions(prepared perfectly),Rack of Lamb served beautifully, Scallops , and Chicken Marsala. The mussels were excellent! The bread was crusty and warm and the butter soft. My companions had spinach and Lorraine quiches and they were ok, the spinach a bit dry. Side salads were just ok as well. The side of breakfast potatoes were perfectly fried and delicious. Service was attentive and they responded to our request to lower the music volume which we appreciated.
We have enjoyed the French Gourmet for years, since the time they were located in Bird Rock, both for their excellent pastries as well as great French dishes in the restaurant. During Covid, the owner, who lives in the area of town where we do, would occasionally bring pre-ordered food to a church parking lot, and once even took the trouble to deliver to our home personally.
