The overall experience was good but they fell short with the food menu, not much variety. The menu is heavy on seafood and spicy selections. The service was excellent. The drinks were delicious. I would go back for the ambience.

We had such a great time. Our server was amazing & the staff was very friendly. Loved the fireplace! Such a fun time!

Enjoyed the ambience of this place. Our server was supposed to find us another table and never did, so just wish she wouldn't have said she would. Food was good, drinks good. Liked the music - ukulele player singing. Would recommend it. It was my boyfriend's birthday so thought they might bring a dessert or something, but they didn't. Did wish him a happy birthday though.

We've been to a lot of tiki bars around the country and this one is absolutely top notch! Go if you can! It's worth it.

The setting is fun and the drinks and food are great, but the music is so very wrong! A background exotica or “tiki classics lite” would have been perfect, but the selection was jarring and detracted from the experience. It was also very loud and difficult to carry on a conversation even though the venue was only half full.

What a gem! The surprise of the night was happy hour from 5-6pm making all menu cocktails 50% off. Presentation and taste of the drinks was all top notch. The food was also great. We were big fans of the California roll tacos!

Fun tiki bar - not as over-the-top as some. Food was excellent and was brought out quickly. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Speakeasy entrance would be fun except for the hostess out front that checks you in first and then opens the entrance???

Great atmosphere but the shrimp was mushy and the chicken bowl was just average. We would definitely go back but not have food there.

If you like greatest hits albums you'll like Grass Skirt because they've copied aspects of many great tiki bars and thrown them together in one place. Unfortunately it felt too slick and corporate for me. The food was good and the service was efficient but most of the drinks were awful representations of tiki drinks and I actually think it was due to the ice or the dishwashing process as all the drinks had a chemical taste, especially at the bottom ice melt section. If you've never been to a tiki bar, check out Grass Skirt but don't expect it to rival the classics.

Our server was amazing and every drink was delicious! We LOVED the papaya salad drink - one of the best drinks we have ever had

Really fun Tiki Bar/Speakeasy experience at n San Diego. My cousins from Athens really enjoyed it. Tables could have been a bit larger and the bass was a bit on the high side ( music would have been more enjoyable if the bass was lower.) but the food, drinks and service was great!

the food here is really good! it's a bit loud for our taste but the service was great also.

First time there, wanted to go x 2 years once saw it in the tiny strip mall where Rubio's once was & my nail salon. A quiet Tuesday night, but fun. There drink list is good, food offerings too short & low protein amount in their meat dishes. Needed more hearty dishes. Great space, only missing hourly “rainfall” from the roof or mega central foundation like the famous “Tiki Room” in SF. Don't drink & drive, rum & fruity drinks are fun !

A little too loud for us older folks, but fun and very good food/service. Our server (Ms. Jay) really ROCKED it! 🤩

Violet was great. She offered my friend a Bday shot free of charge. Highly recommend this place
