Great hotel bar, nice selection, friendly service.
I will say the service needs to pick up, I was surprised that it took 30 minutes for our group of 11 to get drinks, half of which were beers.
Very mid and super overpriced
During my visit to San Diego, I had the opportunity to dine at The Guild bar a few times and always had a great experience. Their breakfast starts at 7 AM, which might not be convenient for hotel guests with early morning meetings. However, if you can wait, the breakfast menu is totally worth it. My favorite breakfast dish was the avocado toast, which I enjoyed with prosciutto and a cup of coffee. The microgreens with grape tomatoes complemented the avocado on sourdough perfectly.
In the evening, I had the chance to grab a few drinks. The bartending staff is super friendly and makes great drinks. This full bar gets busy during the mid-evening, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.
Overall, my experience at The Guild bar was fantastic. It is highly recommended, especially if you are staying at the hotel.
Good looks great but tastes OK. Steak frites served on fries, which are on top of salad and caked in peppercorn sauce. Felt more like eating steak with poutine and crushed soggy salad rather than fries and greens. Crab cakes came fried without indication of being fried on the menu. That is a major thing that should be mentioned as you don’t expect crab cakes that way. Portions are healthy size for the price and no complaints on service. Seating was weird with some tables having seats at different heights. Service was acceptable but not great, didn’t have any issues that others seem to.
Cocktails get an A for creativity and presentation and a C for execution and taste.
Fine if you don’t want to leave the hotel for dinner but would not suggest otherwise.
Unique old fashion and good service.
We have an amazing experience every time at The Guild Hotel BAR! We live in the area and every time we’ve stopped in it’s always such great service and delicious food. As for the cocktails, they are divine every time! From their specialty cocktails to my go to Martinis- So yummy, will always come back.

Unenthused Bartender. I wiped the counter down as she sat a couple menus down on unwiped area.
I engaged her in conversation , she was friendly , just seemed not into it or perhaps a bad day.
Just a cold beer and on out of here.

We happened to be there for an early Valentine's dinner and it was a wonderful experience. The courtyard is so lovely to sit. The food from Chef Carlo Guardado was, as always, outstandingly delicious. Service staff was very friendly and the whole ambiance was great. It was absolutely worth the drive and the money. We'll go back soon.
We have enjoyed brunch on the patio a few times prior. This time, there was no hostess with whom to check in. We were directed to check in with the desk staff, who sent us to the waitstaff to check in. It didn't seem like the restaurant was really set up to serve on the patio. We had several different servers check on us, but this made the service incongruent. We'd ask for something from one staff member and then we wouldn't get it--and then had to ask another server. The food, as always, along with the setting, was outstanding. This has so much potential, but perhaps is going through management issues.
Terrible bar with absolutely obnoxious bartenders - they’re more concerned with closing their bar as quickly as they can rather than serving clients including those as the hotel. They also have a lack of basic courtesy - there’s enough nice bars in the area you don’t need to waste your time and money here. Also as a hotel guest, I’d recommend you think of somewhere else given the level of service doesn’t belong in a 2-Star hotel. Shoutout to Ron and Sydney who were proud of their terrible service.

Was staying at the Guild Hotel here for several days and decided to grab a meal here. Very nice staff. Ordered their salmon dish and a caprese sandwich. The salmon was perfectly cooked, however, a bit under seasoned. Could definitely have used a little more salt to bring out the dish. The caprese was exactly what it was supposed to be. I would eat here again while at this hotel for the ambiance and staff alone.
The eggs were raw when I ordered medium well. The Canadian bacon was so hard I couldn't cut it. We waited about 40 minutes to get first entree. About another 40 to get fixed entree. The "fixed" entree had decent eggs but meat was even tougher. To their credit the breakfast was comped. However, the next day breakfast entree had raw egg white. Coffee was lukewarm. Maximum price for minimal quality.
