Delicious Mediterranean menu with a great view of La Jolla. I appreciated the vegetarian options and the overall comfort of the dining room.Vegetarian options: While the vegetarian options were limited, what they did offer was excellent.

Let me start by saying the view at the Mediterranean Room is incredible. Unfortunately, that's where the magic ended for me. The drinks were just okay, nothing special that I'd rush back to order again. But the biggest letdown of the night was the total lack of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. For a restaurant with such a great reputation in San Diego, a city practically bursting with amazing vegetarian and vegan options, it was honestly shocking. It felt like they just threw in one token vegetarian dish as an afterthought. It just feels exclusionary in this day and age, you know? Not to mention bad business! I can't be the only one who would love to enjoy that incredible view with a creative and flavorful plant-based meal. So, if you're a vegetarian or vegan, steer clear of the Mediterranean Room. There are plenty of other restaurants in La Jolla that will welcome you with open arms (and delicious food) - and probably some pretty amazing views to match.

We had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant, where we reserved a table specifically for its delectable cuisine and stunning ocean view. To kick off the evening, I opted for a dark beer, reminiscent of Guinness, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Despite not being overly hungry, we decided to try two appetizers: the clam and octopus. The generous portions left us completely satisfied, with flavors that were absolutely exquisite. Our server, Ryan, was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through the menu with helpful recommendations. His friendly demeanor and exceptional customer service truly enhanced our dining experience. We savored our meal while taking in the beautiful ocean view, making it one of the most memorable dining experiences during our time in La Jolla.

This was beyond bad. Waited 1.5 hours and still didn't have entrees. We cancelled everything and still paid $200 for drinks and apps. The prices INSANE The service HORRIBLE Overall, please avoid. I am not a complainer, but this was just astonishing. The manager did not even apologize or offer anything to make it right. So disappointing. Only pro: the fries from the bar menu were good lol

My guest and I were the only people dining at the mediterranean room, 7PM on a Sunday night. The room is fairly large so it felt like we had been put in an overflow section. Needless to say the service was good. The food was quite good too. I just don't understand what is going on. We went to the newly reopened whaling bar for an after dinner drink and it was bustling.

Great place with good views, food could have been a bit warmer when served. Note that specific day was super windy and cold. Nice view and good service. Get yourself a blanket if cold.

This place is wonderful. The food was delicious and the service was great. They even sent a reminder of my reservation about 20 minutes prior to my time. The view from where we sat was incredible. We truly enjoyed our lunch.

On Sunday, February 4, I attended La Valencia Hotel'a Mediterranean Room with my family. It was a pretty calm environment, busy enough to tell that there are regulars who come here, but not so busy where it was overwhelming (this is important to us as overstimulation is a thing for some of our family.)Despite being born and raised in San Diego, this was our first time here. We were promptly seated, and our server, Ryan, immediately tended to us. He handed us menus, asked us what we would like to drink, and went off. We had only several minutes before he quickly had our drinks out before us and then took our order. My mother and I ordered a salad and our entree and then two meals for my children. Ryan was incredibly prompt, and the meals were prepared fast; in fact, Ryan communicated immediately that while he had put our salads down, the kids' meals would be served soon, too.Within minutes, my kids were happy children with food in front of them. I've been to many places where the kids are hungry while adults eat their salads or soups, or it comes too soon, but the timing was almost perfect. We had enough time to eat our salad and enjoy our main course with the kids. But of course, service is only one part of the experience. The food, especially for a birthday celebration, was fantastic. I had steak and chicken on my plate, which was cooked exactly as I requested - medium well. It was tender and seasoned well, and the chicken was incredibly moist. It fell apart as I ate it and paired well with the mashed potatoes. The kids' food was great, too. The macaroni and cheese exceeded expectations as this location was a prime spot; I anticipated boxed macaroni and cheese. This was obviously made in the kitchen, and my daughter enjoyed it. My son, who is one of the pickiest eaters you'll ever meet, loved every piece of chicken and french fry (for the record, he is one of the few kids who doesn't like french fries on the regular.)My mom mentioned that it was my birthday, and though we ordered a dessert, Ryan surprised us with a great little birthday note (made of chocolate) on the plate. Throughout, though, he was also very attentive, glancing at the table and checking in. I heard him interacting with guests throughout and near us, and he is a welcoming and humorous server who clearly wants his guests to leave satisfied. The overall experience was fantastic. I can wholeheartedly say that we will eat here again and may become regulars. I'm surprised that I've missed this throughout my time in San Diego, but I will absolutely recommend this location to anybody who comes to San Diego or is already from the San Diego area.

Beautiful. Very nice space with beautiful views.Food was fine; it's the views and ambience that people come for.Brunch was typical at normal prices. Standard menu, standard taste, prices just like brunch anywhere else in California.

It was truly delightful, beautifully decorated, and overlooking Ellen Browning Scripps Park and La Jolla Cove!!! I had the Lobster Benedict and my partner had the Mediterranean Omelette. From start to finish, the service was excellent, the servers were attentive through the entire meal. CONSTANTLY REFILLING OUR WATER GLASSES.

Stellar location! Dining with a ocean front view is always a treat. I expected for the brunch menu to have more options but the food we ordered was fresh and delicious nonetheless. In my opinion the brunch fare was very reasonably priced and our wait staff was friendly and attentive. We certainly will be back :)
