Tidal is the romance restaurant of San Diego! With a full row of two-top tables right along the deck glass overlooking Mission Bay, dinner and drinks are at their sunset best here. The food and service are fantastic too. Don’t miss the corn-and-poblano fondue — just divine — and the crab cake and scallops were excellent. The minted peas were a highlight too, and the meal as a whole was the best we had our entire vacation...perfection on a plate!

San Diego native but first time staying at Paradise Point Resort for staycation. Had dinner reservations for two nights at Tidal for our anniversary weekend. The outdoor setting was peaceful and scenic with Mission Bay views during the sunset. Food was great, freshly made and cooked to order as food was hot. So don't mind waiting. I really enjoyed our server Esteban. He was sincere and accommodating that we requested him to be our server the second night dinner. We would definitely eat here again because of the food, views and wonderful service. Didn't even care what the food prices were as it was worth it. Food menu is seasonal so it does rotate. They even provided blankets for ladies who started to get cold. Will be adding this restaurant to my special dining rotation.
My wife and I stayed a night at Paradise Point Resort, we got reservations at Tidal for 7pm. We were sat promply at nice outdoor table next to propane warmer. The view of Mission Bay was pleasant and serene. We ordered 2 shareable's crab cake and shrimp cocktail, having never had a crab it tasted more like tuna then crab, however the shrimp cocktail was very good. For the mains I ordered Mezzi Riggatoni and my wife had the Scallops (not the tofu scallops). The riggatoni was warm and not hot though it was very tasty, my wife said the scallops were slightly undercooked and everything on her plate was bland. For dessert we ordered the stores brownie and got it to go, we ate some back at the room but the marshmallow on top had hardened and the brownie wasn't warm anymore, we brought it home to heat it up and try again.
I am here for a conference and was thrilled to see a vegan breakfast burrito. Ordered and it delivered on flavor and presentation. Good job Tidal. Staff were really pleasant.

Good coffee and a place to relax. A bit pricey, but I guess it's part of the package :)
Easy access to the paddle board

This restaurant was hit and miss but would give it another try. First it's located in a hotel / resort area which unfortunately meant of a lot tourists with little kids (we are locals) some of them still in swimwear at this somewhat nicer (especially price wise) restaurant.) The tomato panzenella was amazing and so was my husband's pasta, but unfortunately my fish was overcooked and dry.

It's hard to enjoy the ambience when everything else is so terrible. Service was slow, the food was borderline inedible, and the wait stay was not attentive at all. Our waitress was very nice, but that was about it. Would return for a drink and a sunset, but will not pay for this overpriced garbage when there are so many better options out there.
Celebrated a birthday. We had a last minute addition to guests which Tidal accommodated easily. The view was perfect. The lump crab cake and sea bass was delicious. The bartender Aaron and waitstaff Ana were excellent! I will return again.
Hostess and server were super friendly and attentive; but, sadly it goes downhill from there. Salad tasted like dirt and had a bitter taste; the rigatoni pasta was bland and unimpressive. Maintenence man was walking around the restaurant looking for something to repair, I guess. Total dumpster fire of a restaurant.

We were greeted warmly and seated at a very nice table. Our server Melissa was delightful, attentive and very friendly. I had the herb crusted Salmon and it was delicious. My wife had the Tofu “scallops” and the flavor of the sauce was good, but the taste and texture of the Tofu was not great (not our personal preference), but then again, it was Tofo. The S'mores dessert was amazing!!! Manager Teddy visited our table and made us feel important. Overall a fabulous dinner.

Tidal is a very nice restaurant within the Paradise Point Resort just north of San Diego downtown. The restaurant overlooks the bay with beautiful views and has a relaxing atmosphere. We visited Tidal during our stay at the resort a couple of times. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Our waitress Julia had good suggestions about the menu. A highly recommended place to dine if you are in the area.

First, I want to say that our server, Esteban, was excellent and the view from the outdoor patio was great. Otherwise, total lack luster. We ordered several items and all of them were extremely disappointing with the exception of the tomato panzanella salad. We sent back the crab cake and broccolini. The crab cake was super thick, over cooked on the outside and mushy in the middle. Very unappealing and such a gross texture! The broccolini was hard, stringy, and incredibly difficult to cut. I shouldn’t have to saw into broccolini. We did not send the rest back, but here are the details… the rigatoni sauce tasted like jarred sauce and was not even warm enough to melt the cheese, the ahi was very mediocre and veg was basically raw, clam chowder was super sandy (crunch, crunch, crunch with every bite), bread with the bread service was stale and dry, and the flatbread was meh and nothing special. I wish we had never come here. It was expensive and a total waste since most of the food was not eaten. Thank goodness for the service and view or I’d be giving this place a one star overall. If you are staying at Paradise Point do yourself a favor and drive off property for quality food. Oh, I guess the glass of wine I had was okay, too. Everything else was very, very low quality and poorly cooked.
P.S. I saw a server in the restroom go into a stall with her cell phone in her hand, came out of the stall holding the same phone, put her cell phone on the counter, half washed her hands, put her apron back on and then touched the same cell phone that had been in her hand with her in the bathroom stall before serving tables. Talk about disgusting!
