I lived in Kansas City for over a decade and know all the classic joints. This place does not have Kansas City bbq. More like east coast bbq. Cole slaw with vinegar?! It tastes like sauerkraut. No smoked ham? It's definitely an interesting spot to go and the merch is funny. I only gave 4 stars because it's not very KC in its flavors. I recommend the owners visit Oklahoma Joe's (which is just Joe's now) go to the one in the original gas station in Roeland park. That's Kansas city bbq.

If you've seen the movie 'Top Gun' then it should be on your list for a visit. Only had drinks at the bar but it's fun to see the filming location and all of the memorabilia inside. A very touristy place so the staff must get a bit fed up of that or at least seemed to!

kickass bbq, really cool theme to honor the original top gun movie, where goose’s piano scene was filmed. really cool place!
The atmosphere is amazing. We had a quick pit stop. Busy but not crowded. Free wifi was a bonus for European travellers.

Great Bar and REALLY GOOD FOOD. I definitely recommend visiting. Plus, all the cheesy Top Gun memorabilia. How can you pass that up? I ordered the rib tips, and they did not disappoint. Also, the fried pickles with their spicy sauce is legit.
