Get the white sauce gnocchi! Omg! An explosion of cheesy goodness in your mouth. I wish the plate was bigger, cuz it’s that delicious! It does need some bread of some sort to soak up the extra sauce… because I’m not licking my plate again ?
Just had dinner here with some friends…overall very good experience ! The complimentary bread and pasta sauce was great, our meatball appetizer was also delicious. We shared three pastas (tartufosa, spicy rigatoni vodka and carbonara). The first two pastas were excellent but the carbonara I hate to say was terrible. The description stated it only had egg, guanciale and percorino (like a good classic carbonara) but it clearly had cream in it and I’m not sure what the meat was (maybe ham?) but it was definitely not guanciale. But I just want to emphasize overall a great experience !!! Just don’t order the carbonara or @trattoria da sofia fix it please !!!!

The food here is amazing! I would have to say this is one, if not the best Italian restaurants here in San Diego. The spicy rigatoni in vodka sauce, bruschettone, & cesare salad were all 10/10. The service was also amazing. I can't wait to come back.

If you're looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience, Trattoria Da Sofia is a must visit, and it's all thanks to the incredibly talented Chef Enrique. From the moment we walked in, we could feel the passion and dedication this chef pours into every dish. The attention to detail, the flavor combinations, and the love for authentic Italian cuisine are apparent in each bite.
I started with a pasta plate, and let me tell you, it was heavenly. Perfectly al dente pasta, tossed in a sauce so rich and vibrant, you could taste the freshness of each ingredient. It felt like the kind of dish you'd only find in a cozy restaurant in the heart of Italy. Chef Enrique knows how to balance flavors, and it showed from the first bite.
My companion had tenderloin filet, and it was out of this world. Juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. The sear on the outside was masterful, while the inside melted in our mouths. Chef Enrique has truly mastered the art of bringing the best out of a simple steak, transforming it into a memorable culinary experience.
And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we were served dessert. It was the perfect end to a flawless meal. Light, sweet, and bursting with flavor, it was clear that even the desserts at Trattoria Da Sofia are crafted with the same care and expertise.
Chef Enrique isn’t just a chef, he's an artist. His skill in the kitchen elevates this restaurant beyond a simple Italian eatery it's an experience you won't forget. If you're in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine that feels like a warm hug, you have to visit Trattoria Da Sofia. Chef Enrique's creations make it well worth every bite!

The best Italian restaurant in North Park. We had the fried burrata, carbonara, Ossobuco. The Ossobuco was one of the best Italian dishes I ever had. Highly recommend.

This is my second visit. The carbonara was not good at all. It was not spaghetti noodles. So weird. Not saucy. Just off. The tiramisu was amazing.

Cute place. Started with the burrata fig toast which was delicious. Then enjoyed their handmade pasta - the Pistachiosa and the Spinachini. The pistachio pesto pasta had incredible flavor and creaminess to it, and was a huge portion. The ravioli was also a generous portion, but the main flavor was definitely spinach, so if you aren’t a big spinach fan I’d order something else. The texture of both pastas was just a little too al dente for us, overall. Would have preferred just a tad more soft. But overall good experience, good food, great service & we’ll be back to try more dishes.
