Vino Carta is a gem! An impressive size selection of high-quality import wines that are very well-priced. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and gives solid recommendation.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Little Italy!
Best selection of natural and classic wines in San Diego
Best wine shop in SD. Great wine club with tons of benefits and lots of fun food pop-ups and events.
Great selection and knowledgeable staff
Great wine shop with an impressive and unique selection! They offer wines at a wide range of prices—from affordable options to high-end luxury bottles—so there’s something for everyone. I also loved that you can taste different wines, and they have some snacks to go along with them. It’s a perfect place to chill, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Our experience here was incredibly disappointing. My wife and I came with our infant daughter, who isn’t even walking yet, to meet friends. At first, we were told we couldn’t stay if we were drinking alcohol, which we understood, so we said we wouldn’t drink. Even then, we were told we couldn’t stay. We asked if we could at least come inside, and they said only if we were buying retail to-go. Meanwhile, they were allowing dogs both inside and outside on the patio. This double standard made no sense and left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. I understand enforcing policies, but this could have been handled with far more courtesy. We won’t be back.
As someone in the wine industry and just returning from Tuscany, was surprised to be informed when walking through the door that technically it’s “a bar” so our older, extremely well-behaved children were not welcome/allowed as they were technically 21+. As a previous reviewer wrote, there was a general lack of compassion from the bar tender/greeter.
We came here to get a wedding gift for a friend and asked for some assistance. The sommelier at the register said he would be with us in a second. He seemed to maybe try to help us but also didn't seem very engaged at all. Some attitude and lack of enthusiasm. We mentioned that the wine was for a wedding gift and was requested to have meaning. He basically shut that down saying that meaning is subjective to everyone, vs giving a suggestion on some kind of Love Story wine. All the wines he suggested we asked if he tried and he said absolutely not.
We ended up buying the most expensive wine we could see at 200$ and left. If we had known there were other wine shops around the corner, we would have gone somewhere else .
Great Wine Shop with a ton of wines that you don't find in most liquor stores or grocery stores. You can even pay a reasonable corkage fee and enjoying the wine in side or on their patio. One thing that bugs me though, when purchasing a wine the tip screen prompt defaults to 28%. I'm sorry but that's just a shady and amateursh practice.
Stopped by while waiting for an appointment, solo, midday. Chill, comfortable vibe with great music. Beautiful display of wines to take home. Snacks available to enjoy with your wine. Enjoyed a glass of Deperu Holler Familia from Sardinia. Fruit forward, excellent body. I inquired about their vino club. Well worth the excuse to visit each month to pick up my two bottles for $60. Enjoyed the solo experience but look forward to bringing friends. Vino Carta you gained a new loyal customer.

A very special place I’ve had the pleasure of visiting a few times on trips to San Diego. Wonderful staff and wine selection. I wish I had a place like this in my city.
Well curated wine list from all over the world. They know what they sell and are genuinely friendly. You can drink onsite whatever they sell for a minor cork fee. The music selection is great. Top 5 natural wine place Ive been to in the US.
Fun place to find a varietal you haven't seen or seen much of. Selections from around the world focusing on low manipulation lower production vino. If you want something new this is the place
Best food ever! I’m so sad they are closing
Cute wine bar with a fun vibe. We came here after dinner and enjoyed our time. There are multiple seating options, indoor and outdoor. Inside, there are some cozy places to sit and talk. The bar tender was knowledgeable and gave us a few generous samples of wine to try before we each bought a glass of wine.
