$16 for chicken & rice with an optional egg for $3 more. Chicken was good rice was over cooked. At least have bigger portions!
You can get much better Filipino food for half the price down in the hood.

I am so disappointed. This was one of the best places in town with crispy skin rice dishes. They now charge three extra dollars for a single egg which can be purchased for 65 cents across the street. They are willing to ruin their dishes to try and take advantage of a news story. 17$ was already a bunch, 20$ for a rice bowl is crazy. 3$ for one egg is dumb.

Horrible service—if you can even call it that! Let me begin by sharing some context: I’m Black and Filipino. My mother recently passed away, and I’ve been craving the Filipino food I grew up eating, especially her cooking. Missing her, I decided to try this place.
While driving on the freeway, I searched for Filipino cuisine and found “White Rice.” Since I was in San Diego for work (though I’m originally from Hawaii), I thought I’d give it a shot.
When I arrived, the experience was beyond disappointing. The cook looked directly at me as I stood at the order window but didn’t say a word—not even a simple “hello” or “I’ll be right with you.” He completely ignored me. Meanwhile, a woman wearing a scarf sat behind the counter. She glanced at me, then sat back down without saying a word.
It was incredibly disheartening but, sadly, not surprising. Although my mother was Filipino, I’m aware that parts of this culture can harbor prejudice against Black people. This experience confirmed that for me. I will never return to this place!

This place has really gone downhill since it first opened here on Adams Ave unfortunately. Rarely have pancit 😥😭 The one vegan meal they have is not nearly as good with plain white rice so I don't come here often even though it's close walking distance to my house. Mid food, and rude service.

I ordered the longganisa bowl and it was quite delicious. Tasty sausage, veggies, vinegar all mixes together well. My only small complaint is the garlic rice was slightly old and dry but otherwise, it was still very satisfying.

Wishing i could repeat the experience when I came there for the first time about same time last year my mother before she passed. I brought 2 people there from the bay area be mindful we know good Filipino food. Not only was the quality of the adobo not as savory or great and service of the staff was not up tp par level. They are " just peasant" He claims. Wtf is my reaction to it. But moving forward. Please fix the proper etiquette of a conservative Filipino culture and tradition but also the quality of a home cooked Filipino famous dish. Come on get with the program San Diego.

The chicken adobo did not remotely come close to the flavors typical of this dish. Pork lumpia was good. The pandesal's purple color was the only thing that screamed, ube, otherwise the ube butter is needed to get some sweet flavor.

The sisig was not hittin' today. The presentation was unsatisfactory. It looked like someone's leftovers served to me. I brought it back up and questioned what I got and the lady said thats how we make the sisig.
I pointed out to her that it didn't have the fried shallots and she was kind enough to sprinkle some on. Thanks anyways, but I would have remade the dish if I was working there. She could tell I was unsatisfied.
So sad since I've had it before and made me want to come back. Never coming back again.

Place might be good for a quick bite/small lunch, but if you’re looking for a meal this is not the place. Only outside seating by the way.
Now this is the part that upsets me. Their sides are about a cup which is fine for an appetizer or sampler, but again, not good for a full meal, and this is all they offer. Now if the price was reasonable this would have been ok because I could’ve just ordered 3 or 4 sides, but it’s $10 dollars for one small single cup side! That’s like 4 bites of food. You can get about 4X that portion at anywhere else for roughly the same price. So yeah, this is definitely not a two dollar sign ($$) restaurant, more like a triple dollar sign ($$$) restaurant when you consider price per portion. I’m not spending $40 on seasoned pork that I can get for $10 dollars anywhere else. I don’t care how well you cook it, it can’t be that much better.
The menu is also extremely limited so there’s not much to choose from, and the menu names are Americanized so if you’re looking for variety and authentic Filipino dishes you may wanna try somewhere else.

First time here, ordered to go during the Adams Ave Festival. Waited about 15 minutes for the chopped pork belly bowl, which we had no problem with. The bowl was a good size for the price (hard to come by these days). The rice seemed a little undercooked but edible. The pork belly was chewy but in a good way. Overall I liked the bowl and would order it again. Now let’s talk about the overpriced ube pandesal. Two “mini” sized pandesal for $4. Do not expect pandesal the size of your local Filipino bakery’s pandesal. Like do not even compare it to Valerio’s. You will feel robbed. The pandesal at White Rice is the size of my thumb (see my photo). Literally you can ingest it taking two bites. Even two put together do not equal the size of a regular pandesal. However, I will give them props on the ube butter. That is some good stuff!

Cool place, the chopped pork is very good. I liked the garlic rice here, and the Ube milk tea was OK. The calamansi tea was nice as well. I was full after 1 bowl with some pandesal.

Can't order through Uber at all because for some reason they only listed 5 of their menu items on there. And I did try calling them, no one picked up either time I tried
