Friendly server. Outside area was crowded and food was overpriced. Downtown San Diego is not my favorite neighborhood of San Diego. It's very loud, crowded, and dirty. Being outside on the patio with the crowds from the Padres game walking by was unpleasant. Vibe inside was loud and nightclub-ish which is fine if that's what you're looking for, but we just wanted a fun and tasty dining experience.

I can always count on having an amazing time at Zama. From the food, to the service and the delicious drinks you can't go wrong with this beautiful place. The ambiance is a 10/10 and the vibes are unmatched that's for sure.

Maybe we chose a bad to dine at Zama. There appeared to be a conference going on and the restaurant was preparing for a large group. Our service was slow and unwelcoming.

Such a fun place to have dinner and drinks with your girls! Food was delicious! Experience was over the top!

The food is sooooo average and for the price you'd think it would be better! The service was subpar at best, save time and money and go somewhere else!

Came here before the padres game for happy hour with friends. We were excited about them having some fairly priced Toro. We were the first ones and they told us after our first order of toro and this other roll that they were sold out. They were also sold out of several drinks. Such a bummer!

Ambiance is nice. Food & beverage very nice. Service is slow is a restaurant that wasn't busy.

Loved the ambience, food fantastic. Service could be a little better. Staff is not friendly. Your paying a lot of money it would be nice to have exceptional service. It wasn't horrible just not friendly or personable.

Unfortunately, This was probably one of the worse experiences I’ve had in a very long time. We had a reservation at 9 and were sat and asked for sparkling water and were given still. We waved down servers and were ignored. We were not helped until 9:45 by standing up and pulling a lady aside to explain that we haven’t seen a server nor taken a drink order and that our water wasn’t even correct. She takes our order quickly to bring out another bottle of still. The bartender/shift leader then comes to our aid. Though polite brings out bottle of still. At this point it feels blatant disrespectful. There’s 6 glasses of still water at our table. Still no server. Still no greeting. There was so much attention and detail other parties with singing and sparklers celebrating unique occasions. No one bothered to serve us and ask. It’s now 10:30 and the food comes out with sparkling water. The new glasses brought to us are dirty… like granulated old food encrusted on the outside. We left it there. We ordered the wagu which was underwhelming. The Brussels were in a pool of grease and were immediately sent back. I will say their tuna roll was great and so was the ceviche. But tbh the service left a terrible taste in our mouth. To go the whole night without proper service is wild. The manager said it was a mistake in serving rotation, but to say that is to say that no one saw us waving for an hour. We should have left sooner, but I really wanted to stay optimistic and try out a new restaurant. They comped few items, but unfortunately we won’t be back. I don’t recommend — a greeting is the floor.

Made reservations for 9pm. No one seemed to notice our table for an hour. After that hour a waitress tried to quickly take our order. I ordered the Australian Waygu. Meat was not worth the $14 per ounce.

Manager did eventually show and comped the drinks and waters but the lack of attention from staff and lackluster attitude once my date and I brought it up was very telling of how they felt. I never like to leave bad reviews but tonight Zama was asking for it. Hopefully they learn from this fluke and continue to do well.

Opentable Diner

Not worth it. Too loud, drinks were weak and they reuse the same glasses, service was slow.

Had a great date night. Everything was perfect. Fairly priced, food was great and the ambiance was the perfect addition for an overall experience. Im definitely coming back.

This place was a great experience. I booked reservations the day of my visit and had trouble finding parking so we called and they pushed our reservation back a little bit. The food came out fast and it was delicious. The service was outstanding and the environment was gorgeous! I would definitely recommend to come here!

The experience can be fun with decor and the vibe. The food was hit and miss. Lacking in flavor on a lot of items we had. Braised short ribs was the best thing we ate. Also super salad. Drinks were fun and tasty. Service had a lot to be desired. Went on a Saturday night. Was busy but not overly crowded. Very pricey for food quality and service was not worth the extra service fee they add I assume to pay higher wages, Or health care 4.5%. Is a lot so I hope some goes to the server, but who knows it's not explained. Lack of service. Entitlement to a tip it seems.
