I visited this Latin American restaurant with my friends to celebrate my birthday. The atmosphere is nice, though it was quite loud and made it difficult for us to hear each other. I tried the salmon sashimi, which was very tasty but the portion was quite small. My sister ordered the poke salad, also delicious, but again on the smaller side. They have a cute swing that’s great for photos, but the floor around it could have been cleaner. The staff weren’t very welcoming, which was a little disappointing. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I don’t think I’ll be returning.

We all know that scene in The Menu (2022) when Anya Taylor-Joy’s character says, “I don’t like your food and I would like to send it back.” That's exactly how I felt after dining at Zama. I usually try to be fair and balanced with reviews, but this experience was disappointing
Pros:
- Stylish interior that’s perfect for photos
- Upbeat, energetic music
- Attentive waiter
Cons:
- Drinks had a strong, perfume-like taste
- Prices were high compared to similar restaurants, but portions were much much smaller
- The space is very small, so the check comes almost immediately after you finish eating
- For a group of 6 there was a 20% gratituity charge ($76 in our case)

Food was amazing! Went to Zama to celebrate a friends birthday. 5 of us shared the tomahawk, branzino, oysters, toro nigiri, tuna & yellowtail sashimi, pink roll, mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. Everything was perfection. Recommend Zama.

I cannot get over this place. Food, service and ambiance is a 20/10. The grilled octopus and the lamb chops were my favorite. The ceviche was spectacular. I will definitely be back next time in San Diego.

The atmosphere was amazing, loved hanging out, however the food was way over priced for what you get, for example the ceviche was super expensive and you only get a few bites . Definitely not the normal portions served in Latin restaurant
