First, this is not really French and the food was mediocre at best. My wife's chicken was SO hard it was impossible to cut. Overcooked to the point it wasn't edible. Nice people but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
Waitress was nice, could be a little more attentive. The food was really yummy. I got the smoked salmon carpaccio with potato. Delicious!
Some menu items have very small portions for what you pay. For instance, the breakfast sandwich and fried chicken sandwich are small and they cost $16-$18.

Note: I was not presented an itemized receipt before I was presented a card reader.
$13 for a slice of olive oil cake which looks like a slice of bread. Perhaps the waitress miscommunicated as the item I pointed to was $6 for olive oil cake on the pastry menu.
After seeing the bill I was surprised (also $9 for a bottle of still water) to see $13 for olive oil cake- when I opened the to-go bag it was laughable that they charge that much for which a small portion. Perhaps they charged us for the desert portion and only gave us the pastry portion. Which raises other concerns..

I went to your San Diego little Italy location on Tuesday afternoon and got the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had. The worst part is I’m convinced it was from the salad the waitress gave me because they didn’t want to make French fries so early.

Perfect cocktail, perfect service. Low key and beautiful spot - would come here over Nolita or similar places any day.

I love this place! I've walked by Zinque' so many times and finally got to try it last night. I will be back...the sooner the better. There were 3 of us and we sat inside at a high top. Service was perfect: friendly, helpful and food came out quickly.
At our table we ordered the green lasagna, the bowl with forbidden rice and added shrimp and the roasted cauliflower with a shared plate of grilled shrimp. Delicious! I have serious dietary constraints and I felt SO safe here. GF options! GF bread?
I can't wait to come back for brunch!
Vegetarian options: Delicious and varied choices
Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian options on the menu and more Gluten Free items than most restaurants

There are so many better spots to eat in little Italy than this.
We decided on the meatballs and they came out still frozen. I bit into them and they were ice cold. The worst part is the staff didn’t seem to care that they just served us raw meat. There was no “I'm so sorry” it was just “oh okay I’ll take those away for you”. The people that work here don’t seem like they want to be there either. Other tables were seated outside and had to go into grab a servers attention. They were all huddled inside talking like there were customers outside.

I've walked by Zinque on the edge of Little Italy many times. Finally took a date there this weekend. Love the location because you don't have to be in the middle of the craziness in Little Italy but you can walk to that after eating if you like. The ambience is great. It's quaint, small but open to the street. The steak and frites as well as the mussels and frites were awesome and the wine selection was amazing and not over priced. Service was excellent! I discovered they do breakfast/brunch/lunch there also and it seems like a great daytime spot also. Definitely recommended! Will return!!
The Ambiance and food was great. I ordered the smoked salmon toast and green juice which were tasty. On the other hand, our server, Jessica M was very unprofessional with an attitude. Almost like she was slightly racist taking orders from those who got there even after us. I had to actually call her to make her attend to us. Otherwise who knows when she would take our order. Then turned out that the %20 tip was already included and that made sense for her horrible service. And then she asked us if we wanna add more tip to the %20 that was already included. Like the %20 was not even worth how she provided service and attitude to us. Horrible and very disappointed. In n out has better customer service than her.

Clean and great food! Pet friendly patio ?
The food and the people working here are amazing!!!! I’m not from San Diego so I recommend this place to anyone visiting out of town or even locals if you haven’t given it a shot! Gabriela who is one of the managers made sure we had an exceptional time and service. Definitely coming back when we visit again!

So glad we pivoted to Zinque instead of waiting 2.5 hours for brunch in a line for a different restaurant. Brunch at Zinque was delicious and flavorful. We had excellent service from Amina and enjoyed sitting outside on the heated patio enjoy the gorgeous albeit chilly San Diego weather.
