Yummy!
Our waiter Gigi was amazing, attentive and kind.
Wait time was good as well!
Pretty good place for drinks and Korean foods.
Place is so bomb
I’m so happy to be here
Quick drink with Sashimi and Takowazsa (octopus wasabi)
Fun downtown sushi spot! Lots of fun Korean music and videos. Sashimi plates are good!
Wonderful spot that's open late. It is a great izakaya style place to go to get some truly delicious Korean food offerings. The service has been excellent every time, and the atmosphere is fun and vibrant.
The Cheese Bul-Dak ( 치즈불닭 ) is exceptional!!! Lots of flavor and the perfect amount of spice. Bulgogi Japchae ( 불고기 잡채 ) is also excellent. The Deep-Fried Chicken Wings are VERY crunchy, but if you are looking for spice, they are a bit mild. Still delicious.
There is a dedicated parking lot right out front. The establishment is wheelchair accessible and there is wheelchair accessible parking available as well. If it's super busy, you might have to park on a nearby street and walk over.
They offer plenty of Korean alcohol beverages to choose from. Far more than most. You can also get a few Japanese beers and sakes here, too.
The restaurant offers plenty to look at, which can be either distracting or enjoyable while waiting for your food. We waited about seven minutes before being seated, which was not an issue. However, after being seated, it took 15 to 20 minutes before our server approached us for drink orders.
After placing our order and receiving our drinks, we waited nearly 50 minutes in total, trying to be lenient, before realizing that tables seated after us were receiving significantly more attention and had already been served their food. Concerned, we flagged down a different server to check on our order, only to find out that our original server had never entered it. While frustrated, we were extremely hungry and agreed to wait if the food would be expedited, which it was once the order was actually placed. In total, we waited an hour before our food began arriving.
As for the food itself, the miso soup was delicious, the agedashi tofu was decent, the crispy fried rice was outstanding, and the vegetarian sushi roll was exactly as expected. The food quality alone would be a reason to return, but the service left much to be desired. Once the new server stepped in, everything was handled promptly, but it was disappointing that we had to go out of our way to get someone’s attention. We were passed by multiple times, yet no one checked in or noticed that we had nothing on our table.
We were told our server was new, which is understandable, but it doesn’t fully excuse the lack of oversight from the rest of the staff and our server. Additionally, there was no offer of compensation or even a small discount to acknowledge the inconvenience, which would have gone a long way in improving the experience.
Overall, while the food was impressive, the service made the experience frustrating. I’m unsure if I would return based on this visit alone.
I love this place. We went there recently and the food, service and atmosphere were all on point. Outstanding, we will be back. Great spot for Korean/Japanese fusion.
We ordered the uni(sea urchin) and it was rancid, the owner then went on to charge us for the bad uni which he insisted was good but didnt dare to try.
Restaurantji Recommends
The food was soo good. We have to come back to try more of the menu. Portions were generous. We left stuffed. The soju is fire. Strongly recommend. They play some fund music as well which sets the atmosphere. Warning, you’ll talk about taking a trip to Korea after visiting.
Zzan Sushi & Soju is a total hit! The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and downright addictive; each roll better than the last. The vibe is relaxed but fun, with the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger longer than you planned. The staff is friendly and quick, making sure you're well-fed and happy without feeling rushed. If you’re craving sushi in Convoy, Zzan’s the place to go. Just be prepared to end up ordering more than you intended because everything is too good to stop eating!
Our experience was bad. We went there two times. We thought the first time was just the wrong time and day. However, the second time we went it was horrible. The service was not right. We ordered a sashimi combo and not all the food arrived. The size of the serving is so small, especially the sashimi, everyone only has one piece of each sashimi giving we ordered the large with 4 people. We are still hungry after all the food and we end up paying $300 plus for it. It’s not worth going there for sashimi. I suggest going somewhere that specializes in sashimi and sushi.
The food is so authentic and good. We ordered sushi Roppongi roll, fish cake soup , pork soup and kimchi fried rice , everything is good. The place looks like a pub but is kid friendly with one of the best Korean food in this area
Delicious food, very friendly. We used the karaoke room, and they asked us how long we wanted to use it, i wish they would've told us when an hour was up, though. Ended up paying extra. As it is a Korean restaurant, most songs are in Korean, so if that's not what you're looking for, I suggest going elsewhere. Overall, I enjoyed my experience!
