Delicious, very homemade tasting Indian food. Less oily than the Indian restaurants we're used to. Ordered for pick up. Really nice gentleman at the counter.

We had samosas and chai and both were pretty bad. Samosas were undercooked and chai tasted weird. No wonder the restaurant is empty.

This is the definition of a delicious Indian hole in the wall restaurant. I can’t understand some of the bad reviews - I eat here all the time, and tried some great Indian food around the world (Europe, India, Thailand, Singapore) and all the “best” Indian restaurants in SF. This is definitely in the top 2-3 in SF and recently finally getting recognition in some of the local foodie articles. It’s family owned for decades and serves authentic Indian food with a homemade style. Great thing is it’s not doused in oil and butter, like most places, it’s really clean and more flavorful without the added fat. Inside its no frills cozy and service is great. You can customize the spice for all the dishes and they got Indian beer with sports usually playing quietly on the TV’s.Butter chicken is the best, it has a deep red sauce full of flavor and isn’t over poweringly buttery like other places - it’s almost like a hybrid tikka masala and butter chicken. I wish it had a bit more chicken though. Mixed vegetable and saag paneer are also delicious.Samosas are also really good - perfect size, crispy slim thickness, and nicely full flavored with spices.Tikka masala is pretty good but not as good as the butter chicken.Don’t sleep on this place - definitely a must try and easily can become your regular go to joint

very bad service and absolutely no quality. We ordered 4 cups of tea, and it had no taste. when I complained, they did not refund, nor offer to remake, instead kept the tea which I had issue. probably going to sale it to someone else. The guy who was the cashier, had an attitude and very rude

Food was mediocre at best. I agree with the statement that it's a far below trader Joe's.

Got the Saag Paneer, Hyderabadi Lamb Kofta, Garlic Naan, and Basmati Rice. Everything was delicious and perfectly portioned. Service was friendly and the food came out all together fairly quickly.Would go again/recommend!

Absolutely delicious food! Loving family owned business. Very warm and inviting.
Very mediocre Indian food. Tried tandoori prawns and it tasted bland. Little disappointed.

I feel bad writing this review as I understand that people need to make a living, but I have to agree with the last 2 star review. I usually have my regular places that I get Indian food from but decided to give this place a shot. I didn’t know that you could go wrong with the amount of spices that are involved in preparing this type of cuisine, but I found myself questioning If I had Covid because my taste buds weren’t working. The butter chicken was lacking the richness and creaminess , the lamb vindaloo wasn’t that bad, but the dough of the samosa was very bland. The rice was dry and lacking flavor. The garlic naan and onion kulcha were lacking the flavors of garlic and onion, and were both bland , soggy and chewy. I had to air fry them to try and salvage. I should have known better when I parked and no one was in the restaurant. It was $50 plus lesson I learned this evening. The morale of the story is stick to what you know.
I love this place by far some of the best food! Anytime I visit SF I make it a point to stop in here. Everything is so fresh and flavorful one of my favorite places for sure.
I was hoping this would be a no frills, "hole in the wall" kind of restaurant that served good Indian food. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing and I feel the need to warn otthers and provide feedback. The 3 dishes lacked flavor and richness. There was not enough cream used in the cooking which resulted in the Tikka Masala having the texture of a blended puree. It was not pleasant. Even the Saag Paneer was lumpy (as seen in the picture). For those wanting a point of comparison, if a Trader Joe's Tikka Masala was a 6/10 ⭐, this would be a 4/10 ⭐. I've had my fair share of Indian food in California, and this was the first time I am disappointed. The place gets good reviews from other folk tho, which surprises me. But don't say I didn't warn you :)!

This neighborhood spot can get pretty busy, but the food is always good and take out is hella fast - about 15 minutes. I also appreciate that when you ask for spicy, you actually get spicy.
Something is off with their sauces. I've eaten here twice now and both times I was like, "Is that what I ordered?" The mattar paneer was sweet, very light in color (like made with cheap tomatoes), and kinda chunky. The CTM was similar in consistency and not nearly rich enough. I am certainly no expert on Indian food, but the dishes I've had here deviate significantly from my previous experiences.
