Ambrosia is a wonderful bakery featuring some of the most eye catching cakes and pastries I have ever seen. The atmosphere is relaxed and conveys a respite from the urban environmrnt. I highly recommend a visit to Ambrosia.

This is my go to place for birthday cakes and special occasions. I have been a loyal customer for 18-19 years. You can't go wrong with the fruit tart, carrot cake , princess cake and strawberry layer cake with a layer of panna cotta. Ambrosia has kept up as my children's taste in cakes and pastries matured.

Got the fruit tart and strawberry whipped cream cake slices. Slice of cake was good, but i wasn't a fan of the proportion of whipped cream to strawberries and cake (too much whipped cream). The custard for the fruit tart was a bit thick and gummy. Would consider going back to try other items. Cute bakery.

I came across this bakery as I was driving down Ocean Avenue in San Francisco. I just happened to look over and see that there is a bakery there. Continue on on with my date with some shopping and decided on my way back. I'm just going to stick my head in and see what kind of a bakery this is. Wow, everything in there looked so delicious that I ended up kind of buying a little bit too much stuff for my boyfriend and I. The pastries that I got were delicious and flaky crust, and obviously freshly made right there. I got a slice of princess cake that was absolutely delicious. But I got this thing I think it's called the beehive? I'm not sure. But this is chocolate mousse that had a chocolate coating on the outside, and , thank God I only bought two, because I gave one to my boyfriend and ate one myself, because had I known how freakishly delicious this thing is I probably would've bought four or five more, and pretty much would've eaten them all in my car on my way home to just give the one to my boyfriend. Wow. So far everything there is worth all the calories so before I go back to get some more more I have to be in the gym for three or four hours so that I can go there and be the pig I want to be. You have to try this place.

The fruit tart is my absolute favorite here. The custard's light sweetness pairs well with the crunchy crust. During the holidays, I always grab one to share with family and friends. However, the overall experience left a negative encounter with a female staff member. When I changed my order last minute, I perceived a hint of rudeness as she rolled her eyes and her tone shifted. Despite that, it's a decent bakery offering a wide variety of cakes and pastries. The quick and homey bakery atmosphere is appealing, plus there's ample metered parking,

Love love this place ~~ They have the best cake !! It's a small local bakery that has been around for too long! I like all their cake but my recent favorite is the tres lech one. The cakes are not overly sweet and pairs well with a cup of coffee . They always have two people asking you what you want so service was always quick and thoughtful. It's a small local place where you can grab some coffee and enjoy. Mostly people pick up their pastries and leave. They do have a few tables just in case you want to sit inside

Hands down, one of my favorite bakeries and a true Lakeside gem! I've been coming here for years and stand by their fruit tart cake - probably the best in the city. Other notable baked goods are their muffins (love the sour cream one!) and their princess cakes! Overall, the service here is always friendly and I love the neighborhood atmosphere of this spot.

We got a custard danish and a spinach? croissant (I don't think that's the correct name of the pastry but it was close) and a double espresso for 13.50. The prices are fair, they don't pressure you to auto tip when paying, and the pastries were top notch. The danish was perfectly chewy without being too soggy. The croissant was crispy and chewy with the perfect amount of crunch without the chewy and softness not taking away from the crisp of the croissant. I would definitely visit this bakery again and recommend you visit while you are in SFO. Top notch!

Absolutely gorgeous space. Very full of whimsy and great cafe vibes. The custom cake we ordered was absolutely delicious and not a single person didn't like it. I personally, don't like chocolate or cakes, and I still ate most of my slice. Absolutely delicious and wonderfully made. The service is very friendly and helpful and I had no problems ordering online and picking up.

We love to go there for the chocolate beehive and the fruit tart. The staff were friendly and quick. Their fruit tart is the bomb, the best I've tasted thus far. Tina

I heard this place is known for their princess cakes, and they did not disappoint! My sister LOVES princess cakes, thus I needed to get one for her baby shower. It was my first time ordering from here. I went in person for my order, where the staff were friendly despite being busy. I put an order in for a half sheet of princess cake, with orange marzipan to match her "A Little Cutie is on the Way" baby shower theme. I wasn't sure which writing to put on, but they told me they can do that the day of the pick up (I put my order in about 2 weeks in advance). I paid in full right then and there, and when asked about the pick up time I told them 9am. The day of the shower, I decided to go there at 7:15am to pick up the cake and get it out of the way. To my surprise, it wasn't ready yet. Other places I've ordered from usually have it ready the day of earlier than the pick up time, but it turns out this bakery is so busy on weekends and want everything to be fresh where when they ask about the pick up time, they REALLY mean the order will be ready AT THAT TIME. Since I said 9am and I came almost 2 hours ahead, I continued to run errands and came back at 9:15. When I got there, I wrote down on a piece of paper what I wanted the cake to say; the writing was to be in Greek, so I wanted it to be very clear about how to write the Greek letters. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The writing and style of the cake was gorgeous!!! I didn't give them specifics about the fruit on the cake or the decor besides the writing, and it was beautiful! They offered to bring the cake to my car since it was a half sheet, but I was alright with carrying it myself since I'm used to getting big trays of food; otherwise, I would've had them help me since it was heavier than expected. When my sister made the first cut into the cake (we left it on a stand for about 3-4 hours during the baby shower) she said it was the smoothest cut into a cake she ever did. The cake was moist and the marzipan was not stale. My sisters and mom absolutely loved the cake. By the end of the shower, there were only 2 pieces left (there were about 65 women there). I will definitely recommend this bakery to others that want a dessert that tastes as good as it looks!
