The chicken tangine was superb...very tasty, moist,tender. Mourad can lay claim to the best chicken in San Francisco! The basteeya was so delicious with all the Moroccan spices and light flakey phyllo pastry. The plates came out looking like pieces of art.
The eggplant is divine. Last time we shared one. This time we each got our own. The flavors and textures superb. The Branzino was deboned and the seasonings on the skin were crispy wonderful. Accompanied by sauces and delicious preserved lemons. The custard was the perfect ending. I also enjoyed the rose hip cocktail.
I would cross a bridge or take a bus to have dinner at Aziza because it is a wonderful restaurant with warm staff and delicious food. But, lucky for me, I live a 6 minute walk from the restaurant making it a true neighborhood gem. Colby, the new manager, is so warm and welcoming. My friend and I were given the perfect quiet table. We shared the spreads, the salad, and the branzino, all flavorful and filling. We were too full for dessert but we lingered each of us over our own...
