I truly don't get what the fuss is with B Patisserie. On both occasions I visited there was a line out of the door, but I left disappointed with my experience. I'm a big fan of laminated pastry, and have tried most of the reputable spots in SF, but in this regard B continued to underwhelm. On this latest visit meeting up with a friend there, I got the regular croissant since the chocolate ones were sold out (it was all of 11am). I think on my previous visit I did get a chocolate one, but that also was unmemorable. Sure enough, the plain one was largely uninspiring, even slathered with jam. Meanwhile, the macchiato I ordered was bordering on fast-food chain level. I don't expect patisseries to serve coffee to the same standard as a dedicated coffee shop - although it'd be fantastic if they did - but it seemed as if this was made with no skill or attention to detail. Back to the pastry, I half joked with my friend that I was going to swing by Ariscault on the way there and grab something to bring to B but, alas, waiting in line meant I'd have been too late to meet up with them. I'm no fan of lines but with that one you're at least getting something worthwhile at the end of it. Perhaps B just isn't that amazing at laminated pastry and they have other good stuff that I haven't yet discovered and am missing out on, but I feel like this should be one of the things you do well. To be fair, some of the food other diners were eating looked quite appealing - in particular the savory items so maybe that's where it's at.

In a city filled with famous bakeries everywhere, B Patisserie lives up to its reputation. While it's not the "best bakery ever", it's quite good and nothing really disappoints. They have a good selection of baked goods one would expect from a patisserie, and everything was quite good. Tasty kouign amanns and flaky croissants, nothing to complain about. If you're looking for great baked goods without the crazy lines that some other places in the city have, B Patisserie is a great choice.

I was drawn to this bakery for the great reviews and haven't stopped going back! I live outside of the city but anytime I am nearby we make a special stop in. Everything I've gotten here has been very fresh, baked to perfection, flakey and delicious. However, the chocolate filled queen ahmans are a must-get!! The almond croissants are another item I get almost every time. If you like banana they have a banana almond croissant but the flavor is strong so I onky recommend it if you are a banana fan. The chocolate chip cookies are more of a large, hard style rather than a thick, gooey, but also very good. Never tried the cakes but they look fancy. Beware, it's not uncommon to come and have a line out the door or have them run out of certain items so plan accordingly. You won't regret your trip here!

Love B Patisserie's pastries! If you eat in-house, you can ask them to warm up your croissants for an extra crispy, delicious experience. The Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant is one of our favorites to get. Wonderful flavors - the banana helps temper down the rich sweetness of the almond and chocolate. The exterior sweet crust is crunchy, while the inside still has flaky layers and a rich moist filling. The kouign Amman and pain suisse are also very good. Latte was a good accompaniment to the sweet pastries. Matcha tiramisu had good matcha flavor, but felt too pricey for the slice. I'd get more bread/pastries instead next time. Great service from the staff member who told us it was only his second day working there! There are a bunch of tables to sit and enjoy your food at, though you might have to wait a bit if it's busy. They clean off the tables pretty quickly.

A great bakery for a special treat - I've come to get an assortment of croissants, kouign amann, bostock, cookies etc for teacher appreciation and then a selection of mini cakes for a birthday (lemon tart, earl grey, vanilla cassis, sea salt caramel, etc). Their pastries are always well received, and the assorted cakes worked well. Plus you can buy a full sized cake as well. The selection's too fancy for my daily stop (plus the coffees are small), and the line can be quite long if you don't order ahead.

Since it was our first visit, we tried a few different products by dividing them. And the flavors were definitely not random.

The cookies, kugman -- croissants are all special...it's no wonder their goodies are so well spoken about and busy place! They taste as good as they look, reasonably priced, and fresh fresh fresh! We deserve to treat ourselves with goodness

Cute shop with a good selection of pastry. If you’re looking for traditional French patisserie, this is definitely a more “modern twist” kind of place. The flavors of the pastries are delightful but we felt the ham and cheese as well as the chocolate banana were lacking in the texture of a buttery flakey croissant, as they were a bit soggy. Otherwise good spot with good service

Let me tell you about this chocolate chip cookie. It's dense, crispy, and chewy with complex deep flavors. I waited in a long line for this and it was worth it. This is the best cookie I have ever had.

Iconic bakery in the Pac Heights area, and a cult classic for a reason. There's often a bit of a line outside, but it moves fast and is worth it for a delicious bite of flaky goodness of one of B Patisserie's pastries. My favorites are the Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant, the Kouign Amanns, and the Pain Au Chocolats... The textures are all delightful (a bit of crisp, a bit of fluff) -- the cakes/puddings are also decadent and tasty. I have to stop myself from coming here too often.

Growing up, I was NEVER a fan of croissants. b.Patisserie has completely converted me (for better or worse haha). Their ham + cheese croissants and chocolate banana almond croissants are absolutely delicious and decadent. The first time we tried them, my friend and I were left speechless (and immediately got back in line again to buy more to take home haha). Now anytime a friend or family member is in town, I always take them here and all of them LOVE it as well. It's completely worth all of the hype. Their tartines are also pretty good, but their croissants (and their kouigan amanns, according to my brother-in-law) are the show stoppers. I'd also say their food is more reasonably priced here versus other bakeries in the city which charge between ($6-$9 for a croissant) As a heads up, there is almost always a line but it moves quickly. Also, there isn't a ton of room to eat inside, so be prepared to take your food to-go. Separately, I don't love their coffee but all of their pastries / food is amazing.

The cassis cake was too sweet and cappuccino for here was good but seemed small

Came for the kouign-amann and the seasonal mango was buttery, crispy, caramel-coated perfection. Will definitely be back for more!
