Excellent spot. Well oiled machine from front to back of house. Best of the neighborhood hands down.

Have eaten here several times. One of the top Italian restaurants in the city. Always delicious fresh homemade pasta dishes. Great antipasti. Authentic taste and definitely not your traditional red sauce joint.

This place was absolutely fantastic. Dishes were executed perfectly, had great flavors, varied textures, and looked stunning on the plate. If you’re looking for some high end Italian fare, this cannot be missed.

Truly incredible pasta. Doppio pasta dish is one of the most delightful plates of food I've been served in 20 years in the Bay Area. Artwork on a plate. Perfectly balanced. No notes. I feel like this place is getting slept on. Go yesterday!!!

Incredible food. Anchovies were the best I’ve ever had. Doppio is incredible — the lemon butter was delicious.

Barberio Osteria is a solid Italian restaurant on the Valencia corridor-- I enjoyed a relaxing meal sitting by the window overlooking the bypassers on Valencia. The Heirloom tomato salad was an excellent starter-ripe tomatoes and delicious dressing. We ordered two pastas recommended by the server-- both were good but not great. The server was attentive and friendly

My first time here was a year ago and it was 'meh'. The menu has much improved and our waitress was super helpful and nice. We ordered all 6 pasta dishes and 5/6 were surprisingly good.

The malloreddus and branzino were fantastic as well as bagna cauda, salad, and the tuna appetizer. Loved the food and the service!

We dined at Barberio last night, our third time the past nine months. TBH, it wasn’t my favorite meal at Barberio. So why five stars? Because it was still the best meal I had eaten so far in July.

We always start with the fired ascolane olives, which are delicious and snackable. Get two orders if you have four people, otherwise one order is good for two people.

Last night we spotted “bruschetta” on the menu and ordered it without reading the description. As an osteria, Barberio’s menu changes regularly to highlight seasonal ingredients. While we probably normally wouldn’t order a strawberry bruschetta, we were pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this one (once we got over the initial shock of strawberries!). Not too sweet at all.

Pasta is always delicious, I went with the classic 10 hour bolognese papardelle, and my partner had a different meat based sauce with guinea fowl. Both delicious, with a good serving of meat. I’ve had pasta dishes I liked a little more on past visits, but these were still very good.

Closed out with an affogato; such nice gelato that is almost elastic (in a good way, for gelato!) and what was clearly high quality espresso. It was perfect.

Our server helped us out with an excellent wine recommendation we both loved.

So yeah, even though I’ve just had better meals overall here (ie, a menu that had flavors I liked a little more), I still walked away from this place excited for what I’m sure will be our next visit in a few weeks. Lucky to have it in the neighborhood!

We got baited by the good reviews and came here for a birthday dinner. We got drinks, a salad, 2 pastas, and the porterhouse; our final total was about $350. The drinks and salad were the only things we felt were worth it. I highly recommend anyone reading these reviews to save your money and go anywhere else.

The pastas were both a very strange texture; even tougher than al dente and seemingly made of a weird kind of flour. The portions were quite small but the sauces were decent.

We ordered the porterhouse medium-rare and it came out very raw/rare, so we sent it back and asked for it to be cooked more. However since it was already cut up, after they cooked it more the steak was very tough and was not juicy at all. We felt it was a complete waste of $160 and not worth it at all.

The waitstaff and service at the restaurant is excellent and that is the only reason I gave it 2-stars instead of 1.

Pasta was undercooked to the point the texture was of raw pasta and the fish was over-seasoned and all I could taste was salt. Only good thing was the salad of 4-5 dishes ordered. Very disappointing given the price point

The food was 8/10. I ordered the Agnolotti, and it did not disappoint, but wished it had more of that “unforgettable taste.” They’ve done an incredible job with the interior design. Would definitely come back.
