The young lady at the counter was very pleasant. The sandwiches were awful & 3 time the price they should have been.
The cappuccino was fine.
Maybe they should stick to coffee?

Beanstalk Cafe has such a charming atmosphere — warm, colorful, and full of antiques that make the space feel unique and cozy. I really loved all the little details, from vintage photographs to rustic accents, which gave me plenty to look at while I sat with my drink.
However, I was disappointed with the coffee experience. When I asked for brewed coffee, I was told they weren’t making any more for the day. I wish they had at least offered a pour-over option, especially in a city like San Francisco where coffee culture is such a big deal. Honestly, I’ve been pretty underwhelmed by the coffee shops here overall, and this added to that feeling.
Still, the latte art was beautiful, and the vibe of the cafe is what really shines. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with great atmosphere, it’s worth a visit — just don’t count on getting a straightforward cup of brewed coffee late in the day.

Really cute cafe near Mountain Lake park! Great green tea and lattes! Their breakfast burritos are also delicious - sausage can be hit or miss but it was perfect. The owner (and/or barista) is very sweet and made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

This is my absolute favorite cafe in the city. Amazing food, friendly staff, fast WiFi, great atmosphere, filtered water, spacious tables, music isn't too loud, clean bathroom, etc. I would highly recommend to anyone. I don't normally leave reviews, but this place is a total gem!

Great experience all around- will be coming back and recommending to friends. Great ambiance and character to this place. The service was super friendly. Great work/study place with wifi (with $10+ purchase), outlets, good lighting, and plenty of tables. I got the garden bowl and an iced matcha latte. The matcha latte was good and what you’d expect. The garden bowl was delicious- loved the shiitake mushrooms and sesame oil in this bowl.
Edit: came back and tried the rainbow quinoa bowl (the one with a boiled egg vs fried egg on top + some other differences). The service was still friendly but I was disappointed that the bowl wasn’t as good. I also noticed that I was charged $17.33 even though the dish was listed as $15.95 on the menu- that was confusing but I was too shy to ask about it in the moment. The bowl was overall okay; I like the general composition of the bowl but the brussels sprouts were very salty and there were way more greens than quinoa. I ended up using none of the dressing because there was already so much salt on the brussels sprouts.

The coffee was very normal, what you would get basically anywhere else. It took like ten to 15 minutes for one latte though, and it wasn't super busy, so I just wouldn't come here again. Unremarkable and took a long time.

Coffee was watered down and kinda gross to be honest. Lots of seating and a good vibe but the coffee really kills it for me.

I wanted to like this place and Ive been here twice now so I think I earned the right to complain. It is very pricey, but I wont complain about that part because I believe people should be able to earn a living wage and SF is expensive. What I will complain about is the service, the people who work here basically acted like they didn’t care if I lived or died. I was being kind but not so much as a hi or thank you in the entire transaction with the staff. & I will complain about the fact that the food tastes very odd and the place is not clean.

I was looking for a place to work for a few hours nearby on my visit to SF. This place was great- there is plenty of open seating, complimentary wifi (assuming you make a purchase), clean bathroom, and plenty of natural lighting. It felt very grounding and the veggie sandwich was tasty, but quite expensive ($18.5). Overall, a recommended visit for a local cafe spot.

It’s like visiting a yoga retreat - peaceful , restful - to meditate on work instead of actually doing the work. It’s a place that encourages a soporific attitude to life. I wish there was a bit more ambient noise. It’s a lovely cafe , all the same .
