Chicken Sandwich- the breast fillet was raw in parts where it was thicker.Tenders- We ordered the tenders and it is supposed to have 6 pieces for $18, but we were given 3.Waffle fries were great, will return for those.

Now that they have introduced the “Nugs” this might be my new favorite neighborhood spot.

SF. Perfectly fried chicken wings with the outside being crunchy while the inside was moist & tender. Classic yeast seasoning was good on its own. The mustard sauce on the side was also good, but I felt like it overpowered the classic yeast seasoning. The slaw & pickles were a perfect accompaniment. Overall, good but nothing great. Potato salad was just ok. Glad to have tried this place, but no need for a repeat visit.

Should have listened to the reviews. Over-hyped and forgettable. With such relatively high prices, I wouldn’t even bother trying this if you’re on the fence.Had the chicken and cornbread. Chicken was average, cornbread was unique tasting, but I couldn’t eat more than a few bites. The texture is so mushy. It’s like it was dipped in liquid. Would love to comment on the fries, but they forgot to include it in my order. And this was when it was empty with no other takeout orders other than mine.

The chicken sandwich has a THIN piece of meat that’s covered in greasy breading. It’s more coleslaw than there is meat. I’ll add a picture if I can. $20 for dam near a vegetarian sandwich is crazy.

Relaxed setting to get their famous fried chicken sandwich with a chicken claw in it! The official menu item is the Claude the Claw. If you go frequently, they give you a card where after you order 10 sandwiches and get the next one free!

Such tasty food. The portions are pretty huge. The crunch and exterior coating is delicious and well seasoned. The meat is juicy.I love the way it's packed so neat and clean. I love the sauces to dip and get new flavor combos but I'd recommend getting all of them to try at least once. It's always a win having the choice to do all drums or flats. This time around ordered the sour cream and onion flavor and it's a nice twist from the classic wing flavors! I enjoyed it switching between the falcon sauce and ranch. It's pricier than the usual chicken sando but it's unique in that you can get a huge piece with a foot/claw aesthetic. If I'm in the mood for some good chicken I will continue to consider this a great option. I'm a fan.

Food totally over salted and over seasoned. I rarely say disgusting, but that was it... salty coleslaw, burgers, fries, everything just wasn't tasty... once and never

That fried chicken sandwich! Yes yes please. I'll definitely be back. It was super quiet when I went, literally nobody inside. Which was a surprise because the sandwich was SO good. Great quality chicken. Service was great as well

Quirky presentation, but way too greasy - both the chicken and fries. I'd expect higher quality for the price.

Do you like fried chicken? Do you like fancy fried chicken? Do you like fancy fried chicken with a fancy neon sign of a chicken illuminating the nearby wall? If so, Birdbox is the place for you. Equal parts SF industrial vibey and well-spiced homey soul food, this is a pleasant indulgence for the foodie who has a hankering for a chicken sandwich but doesn't exactly want standard fast food fare. The chicken here is wildly juicy, and with a variety of spice options to choose from (I prefer the Spicy Falcon seasoning), quite tasty as well. Let's break it down. What to get:Claude the Claw is their classic chicken sandwich. It's basically a whole chicken leg, foot included. So if you want a big helping of rich, tender fried chicken that looks like it's giving you the bird every time you set it down, this is the order for you.The tenders are actually really good. Great for dipping in hot sauce, and simply some of the best tenders I've had in SF overall. That said, at $24 for 5, it's a steep deal indeed. In terms of sides, the fries are solid, but that cornbread is GOOD. It's soaked in butter and drizzled with honey - what's not to like? Probably the price. Then again, you're about to buy an $18 sandwich from the sister restaurant of Birdsong. When to go:It's never been super busy when I've gone. Everything is contactless, so the line usually moves pretty quickly if there is one. That said, food can still take a bit of time to come out, so if you're looking for a quick bite, this isn't it. Because of the darker atmosphere, I like Birdbox for dinner over lunch. But don't go during or before a Giants game. It'll be full of people and you'll be sad.

Birdbox is a sister restaurant of Birdsong, a Michelin 2 starred restaurant in SF, and the pedigree shows. Birdbox is a haven for chicken and chicken sandwich lovers. Their sandwiches are amazing--crispy, succulent chicken, tasty toppings, all in a perfectly toasted bun. The place has a modern and friendly vibe, and the service is efficient. What stands out is the consistency; every visit ensures a top-notch, delicious chicken. One thing that bothers me about all the other reviews that I want to specifically call out is that everybody says the chicken sandwich is expensive. It's expensive, if you buy the massive meme of Claude the Claw. It's cool to see, and it's fun, but it's more a statement and a fun thing than the actual price of their chicken sandwich. Yes, it's $18 for the meme, but the normal version of it is $15, which is well within range for a sandwich in this area. The only real competitor in the area is The Bird which at the time of writing is $10.25, and is significantly worse than Birdbox. World Famous Hotboys, which is the best I've had in the Bay Area is $13, and is located in Oakland. Don't buy the more expensive Claude the Claw meme then complain about value... you spent $3 for a picture of a sandwich with a claw.
