The best atmosphere, and a stellar cappuccino 👌
The smoothies were good!
Just pumped into this cozy, whimsical and small cafe. Coffee is good. Staff is friendly. A nice place for study and work and may be just chill.
Whereas other patrons want a place to park themselves and use WiFi for free, I want to be able to get a seat, eat, relax with a beverage, read or people watch. Here at Blue Danube people are engaged in reading a real book (!), having a meal or snack while conversing with their friends, and being present in the experience.
Blue Danube is charming!
It’s not a cookie cutter chain coffee shop.
It’s a local, one-and-only place.
You feel like you’re in Berkeley, the Latin Quarter of Paris or a eclectic Vienna when you sit at these miss-matched tables.
Generations have penned books, written in their journals and sketched art at Blue Danube.
It’s an eclectic décor that is colorful - love it! The food is tasty and hot drinks are Hot(!) which you need in the chilly Richmond neighborhood.
This café employed their regular & student staff during the pandemic - which is meaningful to me. As a family owned business, it supports its neighborhood so we need to support it.
Enjoy coming to this coffee house when I have the chance. The cashier is extremely friendly, and accommodating. The atmosphere of the coffee house is relatively social...strangers will engage in conversation, and you'll see lively groups of people rather than just laptop and work. Good variety of coffee and sweets, and the atmosphere promotes a sense of coziness and warmth. Always happy to stop by.

To pay a separate charge for internet at a coffee shop is a disgusting anti-consumer practice perpetuated by this cafe. The profits derived from this scheme are outweighed by the icky feelings and loss of customer goodwill. $2 for subpar WiFi is outrageous; complimentary internet for patrons should be a given. Do not support this business that will squeeze its customers for a few more dollars instead of cultivating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
Very good coffee and my roast beef sandwich was also very good. Sat outside on a sunny and warm day in November.

Ordered latte and it was extremely hot which is I didn’t ask, unfortunately i tried it when i was far away from the coffee shop, the stuff do not care about regular customers, unprofessional people.

Parking is street parking, meter or residential.
It is one of the local shops, where you can find coffee drinks, wine, breakfast, salads, sandwiches, and small eats. Prices are reasonable. Coffee drinks are ok, not bad to sit down and take a break.

I absolutely love this cafe. There food is always good. I had a brie and pear panini which was a nice snack and a loose leaf mint tea in a cute tea pot. It's so cozy to sit there and work. It's amazing it's been around all these years.

Seemingly good spot for meeting with others, not good spot to do anything that requires internet. Was looking forward to my smoothie despite the high price, but it unfortunately was on the bland side- tasted watered down. Realized WiFi wasn’t open but when I asked about the password, the staff told me they don’t give WiFi access with a food/drink purchase. Luckily, I could use my phone’s hotspot, but this would’ve been a bummer if not for that since I came here specifically to get some work done online, especially since most other coffee shops were closed late afternoon on a weekend!
Was very busy, lively, on the louder side. Seems they're aiming more to be a community hangout, but I'm not in a rush to return even for that purpose given the lackluster drinks my first time there.
