Blue Plate Reviews
Eat here once and you’re coming back. Eat here twice and you’re family. Best atmosphere in SF, incredible interesting wine list, service that is knowledgeable AND fun/grounded/ entertaining and the food, my god the food! This place just celebrated 23 years in business, they deserve
At least 23 more!!!!
I recommend trying the gently congealed, unseasoned slice of cat sick that was the meat loaf. This is accompanied by what I can only assume was meant to be bacon but was, it n fact something that looked, tasted and had the texture of that thick skin you scrape from your heel.
This can be followed up by latte that was like it had been drained from the bottom of the dish washer. It was tepid, and lacked any real semblance to coffee.
All this for quite a lot of money

Blue Plate offers a delightful dining experience with a small yet delicious menu. The small plates, including the perfectly tender and flavorful grilled octopus, the creamy burrata cheese paired with homemade bread, and the amazing shishito app, are popular choices. Guests have enjoyed starting with the smoked trout deviled eggs and little gem salad. The rockfish, cooked to perfection, is another highlight, along with the highly recommended meatloaf and hanger steak. The cozy ambiance, attentive service, and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant also features a charming outdoor yard, making it a great spot for a small gathering or enjoying a meal in the garden. The food is consistently delicious, with homestyle dishes like fried chicken and meatloaf that are done beautifully. The environment is warm and informal, perfect for a relaxed meal. Visitors can also indulge in the key lime pie to finish their meal. While service can sometimes be a little hit and miss, the overall experience remains charming and enjoyable, especially for those looking for seasonal, comfort food in a cozy setting.
