This restaurant is just so good. The people really put care into the food and know how to cook unlike my opinion about most north beach restaurants. The owner is there and an expert on food and a soulful and real person.

Great dishes, one of our dishes was forgotten but the staff made up for it by giving a complementary appetizer. Great restaurant!

The owner and staff are amazing. They are actively walking around and making you feel welcome and like a regular. We showed up without a reservation and some regulars were happy to scoot over and make room at the bar. Food was great and we had a really great time.

We sat in a small room with 2 other tables and were seated first. We were ignored and the other tables received bread and water before ours. The food was good but only one person paid attention to us, a no d was working mostly in another room. Shame that we won't be back😢

We were looking for a restaurant close to Club Fugazi and saw this online and reviews/photos looked great so decided to try it out. It's a fairly small (10-12 tables), cozy restaurant with a small bar in the front. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly. We shared a pizza to start and it was delicious. I never eat my crust and I devoured it - perfection. The pasta dishes were good, typically Italian dishes (gnocci, etc.). I had a mista salad as well and the lemon dressing was light and refreshing. We shared the special dessert which was a limoncello marscapone cake and it was divine - I could not stop eating it. When we got up to leave, the owner (I believe it was the owner), gave us a hug and handshakes and opened the door for us. I watched him greet and say goodbye to his patrons all evening and was so impressed at how friendly he was and how welcome he made everyone feel. The decor inside appears to have been recently redone with green leather booths, walnut wood paneling, and Italian record covers on the wall. Bathroom needs to be remodeled but everything else was great.

Made a reservation same day around noon for dinner, got to the restaurant, there was some miscommunication but got seated right away.
Service was immaculate
The pasta here is phenomenal
Went with mom and there was a young couple seated right next to us, separate table and happened to order the exact same two dishes. Very Pleasant

This small boutique Italian restaurant is not just a place to eat — it’s a place you feel.

From the very first moment, you’re welcomed with such warmth that it instantly sets the tone for the entire evening. The heart and soul of this place is the owner, Rosario. His hospitality is something truly special — genuine, kind, attentive, and full of heart. He makes you feel like a guest in his home, not just a customer. The kind of person whose warmth stays with you long after you leave.

Now about the food — everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of authentic Italian soul.

Bocconcino
A light and fresh starter, perfectly balanced. What I truly appreciated is that it wasn’t over-seasoned — the flavors were clean and natural, allowing each ingredient to shine. I could season it exactly to my own taste, which made it feel even more thoughtful and refined.

Polipo alla Griglia
Outstanding. Perfectly grilled octopus — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Cooked with great care and precision, with just the right texture and depth. Truly memorable.

Parmigiana di Melanzane
Comfort food done right. Rich layers of eggplant, tomato sauce, and cheese, baked to perfection. Deep, warm, authentic flavors that felt homemade and deeply Italian.

Ravioli Fish
Elegant and beautifully balanced. The fish filling was delicate and flavorful, and the sauce complemented it perfectly without overpowering the dish. A refined, thoughtful plate that shows real craftsmanship.

The menu is small, but that’s exactly what makes this place special — every dish feels intentional, carefully chosen, and made with love. Portions are not oversized, but very satisfying. And honestly, the prices pleasantly surprised me — for this level of quality, service, and atmosphere, the value is excellent.

Dining here genuinely felt like a short trip to Italy — warm, soulful, flavorful, and full of heart.

When we return to San Francisco, this restaurant will absolutely be on our list again. Places like this are rare, and Rosario makes it unforgettable.

Highly recommended.

Best Italian food, best gnocchi, I have ever had. Limoncello sliver and Gorgonzola gnocchi with prosciutto added. Homemade, authentic, so fresh. So good I wiped the sauce from the plate with extra bread. Wonderful atmosphere and warm staff. The prices are completely fair. Highly recommend. I really enjoyed my experience.

This is a nice Italian restaurant, small intimate. I liked that there were no TVs but the music was so loud. My friend said their potatoes were over salted but recommended the calamari! I liked the chicken parm and fettuccine. About $200 for 4 people
