I love this restaurant. Many years ago I was in Florence and had the best meal of my life at a tiny restaurant I randomly passed by - it was a gnocchi dish with a gorgonzola cream sauce topped with chopped fresh arugula. I never order gnocchi and really never order anything with cream sauce but MAN that was memorable. When I saw this on the menu at Bocconcino (sans arugula, sadly) I had to try it and it brought me right back to that meal in Florence. So. Good. My daughter orders the spaghetti with marinara at Bocconcino. And even something as simple as that is totally to die for there. Great environment and friendly staff too. Both times we ate here we arrived very early for a reservation and they were able to seat us right away. Will be returning soon!
Amazing pasta, attentive and kind servers, and the house Sangiovese is delicious and well-priced. Everything you could want from a neighborhood Italian place. Although not a “kid restaurant”, they were accommodating, made us feel welcome, and offered my son a half portion of his favorite pasta. I'll happily skip over the tourist traps and bring visitors to Bocconcino any time!
What a wonderful experience at this sweet North Beach restaurant! The service was impeccable and the food orgasmic! We will be back for sure! Pretty new but so making them a for sure stable in North Beach Little Italy! Thank you Gentlemen!
Nice, neighborhood restaurant off the beaten path in North Beach. Pasta was fresh and perfectly prepared. By-the-glass wine was reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed.
Wonderful food - everybody really enjoyed their entrees - Pasta Bolognese, Lasagna, Pinsa. I highly recommend this restaurant and already am looking forward to returning for another delicious dinner.
The best Italian in the city. Staff is extremely flexible & friendly. Great for big groups. Very reasonable. Pasta is excellent.
This place has some of the best hospitality in all of San Francisco! The Pinot Grigio and prosecco was phenomenal, and the music playing was perfect.
We recently discovered this place and love it. The best gnocchi ever. And I love practicing my Italian with the owners.
Took a chance on this highly rated neighborhood restaurant. It's very small and the tables are closer together than I prefer. However, I was happily surprised by the excellent service and amazing food. Both our entrees were delicious and really "homemade". The limoncello cheesecake dessert was also exceptional. The value for the money was also great. Highly recommended.
Food and service were amazing. If you're in North Beach add it to your list of go-to restaurants.

Wonderful experience dining here. The service was A+, the food was amazing, and the house red wine was one of the best red wines I have had. I had a special that was home made rigatoni, prawns and scallops with a red sauce. My husband had the chicken parmesean and substituted the fettuccini saice for red sauce. We also shared the ceaser salad. All was amazing, and the best homemade pasta I have ever had!
We had a nice evening here. We had a grilled vegetable appetizer and the octopus appetizer, and seafood ravioli and lamb shank mains. The vegetables were delicious but for $17, it seemed like a very small amount. The octopus appetizer had one tentacle that was recognizable as octopus and two extremely bland things that looked suspiciously like calamari, not octopus. The ravioli were ok, and the lamb shank was delicious. Tiramisu was good. Wine selection by the glass was excellent. Service was warm and professional. I'd return but maybe order some different things.
Seating in the restaurant is quite cozy with other tables, there was no AC on and most people were sweating. The server was fantastic and so was the food. They only serve beer and wine, which was unfortunate for me. Only 1 washroom so you may have to wait in line. Decor was simple and nice.
Truly fine. North Beach standard - nothing special, just what you expect from an old-school Italian restaurant: chicken parm, generous portions, bread before dinner, extra cheese on demand. Great for tourists and families, but not your anniversary.
Loved it! I’ve never been to Italy, but this is how I imagine authentic Italian food would taste lol. Great service and very friendly staff:)
