We unexpectedly decided to go to Bocconcino as we couldn't get in at another restaurant. And it was such a fantastic choice. We had a wonderful dinner and the food was delicious! We will definitely be going back. 
Great find. If you're looking in North Beach for an excellent Italian food, good service and not too loud, this is a perfect choice. The menu is a mixture of traditional items and more creative, and all were good. The grilled vegetables app was tasty, not sure what seasoning they used. We were 4 for dinner. All our meals and salads were very tasty- pastas, risotto and salads. The chocolate mascarpone cake was very good as well. Our server was attentive and friendly. The table bussing was efficient but could use some polish. We sat in the 2nd room which doesn't have as much charm as the main room. The noise level was high. I'd go back but ask to sit in the main room even though it also sounded loud.
