This place is delicious! I especially liked the boneless lamb and the salad. Will definitely return.
Summary of my experience:
* The food was not fresh. It tasted like preheated food.
* The service was not good, server got mad when asking questions.
* Also they got our order wrong. The server was told to have one separate vegan order (fasting), and another meat combo. The server ends up bringing it all in one plate and doesn't correct the mistake.
The only nice thing about the place is it has great art around the restaurant. Outside of that, the food is horrible, I wouldn't recommend this place.
Every dish was great. Meat was all really tender and flavorful! Very affordable for the quality of food!
Absolutely loved every dish! I tried the Zigni, Tibsie beef, and fish, all were packed with flavor. This was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and it definitely won’t be the last!
--tofu dish- 8/10 very good
-Veg sampler consisting of:
-potato and Carrot- 9.5/10 excellent
-yellow pea- 9.5/10 excellent
-spinach- 9.3/10 great
would be amazing to see the menu be fully vegan someday!

I have to say, having come from Oakland, for the price, the portion sizes and taste are a joke, but especially the portions.
The food was very good and portions were generous. Service could be improved but a welcome change of pace from the other Valencia standards.
The good. Food itself is amazing (at least vegetarian food is) I can’t remember where or when I had food with so much taste, flavor and authenticity in San Francisco.
The bad “Cafe Ethiopia” does not serve coffee, listed beverages or deserts!
Ethiopian food is eaten by hand, not possible any other way but you’re not given any napkins or towelette to clean your hand before or after eating.
This restaurant has potential but lack the knowledge how to run a restaurant. Please don’t be put off by my comment. The food is really good.

Delicious Ethiopian food! As expected, prices are higher than elsewhere in the bay, but unfortunately servings are also a bit smaller. Food is excellently prepared.

Comfy place with a wide variety of Ethiopian dishes with good descriptions of each. Nice variety of vegetarian and meat dishes, and nice to have the option to order dishes individually or as combos for one person. They also seem to have a good selection of Ethiopian beers although none were available on my visit.

My absolute favorite restaurant in the city! The flavors are fantastic, the decor is interesting, and the family that runs the restaurant is a delight. Plenty of options for meat eaters and veggies alike. I go here whenever I have the chance!
