I love love love this restaurant because Jacqueline is one of the most amazing women on the planet. Yes, the reservation situation can be tough but just keep calling every now and then and go!!!

Tried for months, no joke, to get a reservation; did not receive a return call after numerous attempts. Mysterious, opaque, seemingly snotty process. How anyone manages to actually have a meal here is beyond me

Delicious soufflés. We tried the shiitake garlic basil for the entree and the chocolate one for dessert. Didn’t order any appetizers which worked out since we could barely finish the meal, though we did have some of the baguette they brought out before the meal.

It’s a joy to watch the chef work in the kitchen! This cafe is a San Francisco landmark so make a reservation and go there to enjoy a 3-hr long relaxed meal.

Made a reservation 2 months in advance, it was confirmed, and they called 1 week before to cancel saying they would be closed…

If you enjoy souffles, this restaurant should be on your bucket list! It's amazing that Jacqueline is still making every dinner and dessert from scratch, herself! Everything we have tried both times we ate at Jacqueline was top quality and delicious. From the vegetarian French Onion soup, to the salads, wine, champagne, and of course, souffles!

Vegetarian options: French onion soup made with vegetarian stock, salads, souffles. Not a place for vegans.

Amazing as always. Jacqueline is a master at her craft of souffle making. Allow at least three hours (or more) to ensure you have plenty of time to dine.

Restaurant was empty but no walk in. They won't take reservations except call them and leave date and time you wish for a call back. WYF. Stone age non transparent reservation system. Good luck for a two months of not promising call back reservation.

One word: Exquisite. Both savory and dessert soufflés were absolutely delicious! We ordered the shiitake, basil, and garlic soufflé to share, plus the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Each were perfect! Make sure you call ahead for reservations and be prepared to enjoy!

I made a reservation months in advance with no issue. The two waiters working the dining area were attentive and personable. As for the soufflés, they were delicious. The pace of the meal was a little slow, but good food takes time. Café Jacqueline is a dining experience that harkens back to a different sensibility.

Had the most wonderful meal last night at Cafe Jacqueline! The food is unbelievable and made even better by the wonderful service. Chris was our server and he was fabulous. He was attentive, funny, had great recommendations and did a great job putting up with a crazy table of friends. Can’t recommend this place enough. 5 stars all the way!

Truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. An extremely special restaurant. The other reviews are spot on; your meal will take a leisurely 2:45-3hrs, the service is top notch, and madame Jaqueline is literally in the back making everything. We split the corn ginger garlic soufflé (incredible) and the chocolate soufflé for dessert. We were pleasantly stuffed—you’re eating a lot of eggs! When we come back again, we will try to go as a four top; two savory soufflés and one dessert across four people would probably be perfect.

Cafe Jacqueline - from its delicious souflées, to its incredibly kind wait staff, to its homey ambiance, to the chef herself, is nothing short of impeccable in every way. Go!
