I am lucky enough, honored-even, to say that I was allowed to work and play in one of the last remaining operable historic sites in San Francisco. Fortune found me lucky and things fell into place... The dust settled, and I could see it all: North Beach, as it was just after the great quake and fire. A boarding house that became a watering hole, a dance hall, a restaurant, probably a speakeasy (with all that entails), a cafe, a bar, two bars, an underground nightclub (with all that entails), a morning coffee spot, a meet and greet for beatniks and peaceniks, a man cave, a theatre (read: Beach Blanket Babylon), a pool hall, an outdoor Dixieland Jazz paradise, a political pawn, a party place, a great memory with many more (hopefully) to come. ... and the kicker? They called me the "lead". For what it's worth, I'm still in love with the place... jb

The SAVOY TIVOLI is a must visit, once you do, you'll want to go back. I found that this pages details are incorrect. If your going to visit you need to know: The hours have been changed. The bar is now open only Thurs. Fri.,& Sat. Thursday's- 8:00 PM to Midnight, unless still then 'til 2:00 AM . Friday's- 800 PM to 2:00AM Saturday's 8:00 pm to 2:00 AM THEY NO LONGER SERVE FOOD. However, you're welcome to bring food in including appetizers or a full meal (you can also have anything, other than beverages, delivered). It's really cool to have dinner on the heated Open Air Indoor Patio, looking onto the street, while enjoying your favorite beverage from the Bar. They've seen the light! YOU CAN PAY WITH VISA AND MASTERCARD!! It's no longer a cash only bar, YAHOO!
