I had a quiet early supper with my sister; we made a tradition of it
excellent cafe and restaurant!!
Cafe Zoetrope is a delightful place—a taste of European charm and a classic experience. If you're a foodie or a film buff, or both, be sure to visit!
Nice place but really bad food. The olive oil doesn’t have any olive color, cheese feels hard and fake on pizza. I suggest you get a drink here to enjoy the ambience and eat elsewhere.
San Francisco iconic meeting place. Nice atmosphere. Great cocktail. The food is average.
Jacob was very kind and went above and beyond! 🍋
Very good place to announce an upcoming ai product 👍
Food and drink was good, but not sure if it was worth $6.5 billion, still have no idea what I'm actually paying for.
Jony Ive and Sam Altman met at the Zoetrope Cafe in San Francisco for their first informal discussions about creating a new artificial intelligence device.
My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding and we had a wonderful dining experience. We will return. We can not say enough good things about our experience.

Very cute Italian cafe. Loved the atmosphere. Buy that was as far as it went. Started with bread with balsamic & olive oil. The balsamic was thin and very sour. The olive oil had zero flavor and the bread was dinner rolls. Next was a Cesar salad. This was pretty good. For the main course I ordered arrabbiata. I got a little heat from the spice red chili but other than that it was incredibly bland. I didn't even finish it.
Great SF Restaurant Week destination. Interesting Asian staff in a North Beach Italian restaurant.
Stepping into Café Zoetrope feels like walking onto the set of a classic film — and that's no coincidence. Housed in the iconic Sentinel Building and owned by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, this charming café is steeped in cinematic history. From the vintage movie posters to the rich wood interiors and soft, ambient lighting, every detail celebrates the golden age of film. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and undeniably inspiring. It's the kind of place where film buffs, creatives, and casual visitors alike can soak in a unique blend of culture, history, and excellent cuisine. The walls practically whisper stories of Hollywood legends. The Italian-inspired menu is equally impressive. From hearty pastas to perfectly curated wine selections (including Coppola's own), every dish is thoughtfully prepared and deeply satisfying. The service is attentive and welcoming, making the whole experience feel special. Café Zoetrope isn't just a place to eat — it's a destination for anyone who loves great food and the magic of movies. A must-visit in San Francisco.
We first came here to eat because we loved the exterior of the historic building. Now we come back for the food and excellent service
