Friendly neighborhood bar with a great selection of drinks. They still had Anchor Steam, which seemed to be sold out throughout the city. The bartender, who seems to be the owner, is very friendly. When I went, they had a beer and shot special, which I had way too many. Luckily I was staying at the hotel next door and could just stumble into bed. I would go again in the future.
Grasslands is a very locals- neighborhood bar/pub that is a great place to have a cold beer and great conversation with friends. Unfortunately they don't have food but there is a Quickly right next door and the bartender lets you bring in any food you like as long as you have a beverage of your choice. I went with the pb&j shot with my pear cider. And yes the shot tastes like a pb&j. There are plenty of comfortable bars stools and a cool jukebox for tunes. Grasslands 905 Kearny...read full review

We stopped in for a drink )and then another drink) before a dinner reservation in the neighborhood. There were no other customers there when we arrived. The bartender was friendly and generous with the pours. It's just the kind of place I like for a drink. I don't want crowds and thumping music..
