I generally do not write reviews, but I had to give a shoutout to Taj Campton Bistro. The Paneer Makhni and Dal Tadka were fabulous, and the drinks were on point. Nothing comes closer to the authentic Indian fine-dine food in the Bay!
We were very excited to try this new French Indian restaurant in the city. We had the western Indian food in London, but the restaurant closed a few years ago... We also missed the modern Indian restaurant that closed during the pandemic across the street from SF Opera... We ordered the duck samosa, lentil soup, coconut/crab soup to start, and spicy lamb curry and beef pepper fry for our main dishes. The starters we ordered were very delicious. Frankly I went in expecting a lot more and was completely underwhelmed by the food. It says French influenced Indian food but the food was so ordinary. The tadka dal and Rogan josh and butter chicken had nothing fusion about them and I could get those at any neighborhood Indian restaurants. The starter prawns was the only decent dish. Even the desserts were not impressive: I was very disappointed
