One of my favorite fried chicken spots here!!!! Nice crunch, not much seasoning but it's still best. The service was great and again the price was great.

Things change a lot in eight years. But, most obviously in the past 4 plus years. Up through the change in 2020, the original owners (actually the daughter and SIL) continued the business, mainly doing takeout for the next year or so. After about a year, they decided to sell the business to one of the staff (not sure whether the chef joined). The chef stayed and, otherwise, the change has not been dramatic. At some point after dine-in was not a practical option, the previous owners stopped offering a western food menu; this used to include plate lunches like corned beef and cabbage and prime rib which was actually prepared by the owner who usually only mans the front of the house. Now, the menu has been somewhat abbreviated with mainly Cantonese dishes, a variety of family style options and rice plates for the lunch crowd. They no longer offer a house soup with the meals. I have mainly been getting takeout from here, even through the challenging times in 2020. I'd often ask the lady owner to tell me what live fish were offered by the neighborhood markets and ask her to steam one for my family. The good news is that their staple menu item, the salt and pepper fried chicken wings continues to be available with the same recipe and made by the same chef. They do a brisk takeout business so do be patient when calling or dining in. I cannot comment on the dinner vibe as I only get takeout during the lunch shift. Looking to dine in around noon on a Tuesday at a place up the block, there was a line and I noticed most diners were either eating or waiting for their food. Here, the tables were half occupied but, since I was dining alone, I chose a counter seat near the cash register. I ordered the ox tail and dried bean curd over rice ( the flavors were good, a subtle five spice sauce. The ox tail pieces were medium or small pieces which I favor since they are easier to eat. The dried bean curds were tender without being too soft. The only items that I left were the bones, large green onion stalks, and ginger chunks. I was in and out of the restaurant in about 30 minutes, perfect to meet my next appointment. The dining room is pretty much the same as it was ten years ago. The crowdedness for lunch is moderate unless it's a holiday or tourist season. I will continue mainly to get takeout here but won't hesitate to pop in for a quick lunch.

I went on Apri 19 2024. It was 4 tables at 12 pm. We order sweet and sour pork ribs plus green beans . After eaten we noticed almost every tables order salt and pepper chicken wings. I ask one of the server, her name is Anita. She told me yes. That menu is very popular. So we told her we will come back and buy to go. That day in San Francisco the temperature was warm around 70. When we were back, i asked her a glass of water. She is so nice. She asked us to sit and drink while waiting for our food. The food is good. The service is excellent. I really recommend it.

So I was told (while there and after ordering our food) that this place is famous for their wings, unfortunately I did not try them as I will save them for my next visit... however, since this was our first visit here, we ordered the house chowmien, house rice, orange chicken, been and broccoli and kung pow chicken. All the food was fresh and delicious! The place is a bit small and can get crowded as it seems is a "locals" favorite place. The staff is friendly and helpful. They can come across a bit rude but they are not, trust me :-) The portions were very generous and the prices were adequate for the type of food and portions. What makes this place a good choice (other than the food) is the ambience and location, it has that authenticity feel to it. I definitely recommend you give them a try! It should be noted that while we dined there, almost EVERY customer order or was eating the wings, I regret not trying them to give you a better review of the wings!

I can’t speak too much else on their menu but as soon as I like something, I cannot get anything else. As childish as this sounds, wings are my favorite guilty pleasure food and their salt and pepper chicken wings taste like they were made from the lord himself. Hands down the best in the city and potentially the best I’ve ever tried in California!!

Hey, this great little place in the heart of Chinatown. We ate here after doing a tour through the San Francisco City Guides. The prices are very reasonable, the service friendly, and the food tastes great. Also, I was impressed with how quickly our food was prepared. I tried their famous salt and pepper wings and they did not disappoint. My family ordered several different dishes and we enjoyed all of it. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in Chinatown.

The food is very delicious, they adapt to the speed of your English if you require it slowly so they speak to you, very friendly, patient and attentive. I will definitely come back here ☺️✅☄️?️

Salt pepper wings, fukian tofu, seafood pan fried noodles and hun Tao Yee fu wonton! Basically all the pics, just pick a few! Can't go wrong!

Went here based on reviews. Very disappointing, from the tea to the flavorless fried rice. Wonton soup and potstickers were okay.

The food and service was okay. But a little expensive in Chinatown, and the portions were small for the price. I come once every couple of weeks...

Wonton soup is the best I’ve ever had. Famous chicken wings are delicious. Staff is very friendly and prices are very fair. The other dishes are also really tasty. Recommended!!

I needed to find a restaurant to take my out of town family while we were wandering Chinatown. I found Capital Restaurant on a list that was recently published. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food. The salt and pepper wings were exceptionally good. The batter felt light and crispy. The Fukien egg tofu was a sleeper hit. All the dishes we got were good, but these two stood out the most.
