I made an order today at this location for pickup via TooGoodToGo (a great app for getting leftovers / unsold goods at end of day). When I arrived to pick up, the door was locked, and the staff kept ducking behind the counter (literally ducking behind it) to “hide” from the people outside coming to pick up.
Then when I left, they knocked on the window to get me to turn around and took my photo. All during their open hours (15 minutes before close). If you check my review history, I’m more of a positive review person and have worked many years in customer service. But what?? This was very weird, and it was super invasive to take my photo when all I did was make confused faces and wave my phone in the air like I was trying to communicate that I had a pick up. Would have had no issue if they’d just told me they couldn’t fulfill my order.

I love this cafe for a quick coffee! The staff are friendly and I have always had good service.
Love this place! The nicest people work there, it's open super early on weekdays, the sandwiches and coffee are great, and there are a lot of seats and natural light!
Very solid sandwiches and great service. Always leave this spot feeling better than I did when I came in.

For anyone who is wondering, Carlin’s Cafe in 2024 is one of the best cafes in the Mission. EQUATOR COFFEE, great sandwiches and pastries. The folks at the front are incredible people. The next generation has taken over and complete redid everything.

In town for a few days from coastal Washington. Strolling the Mission district and stumbled into Carlin Cafe. What a great little local shop!!! I have come two mornings in a row. Food is good, coffee and smoothies are amazing as well. They are fairly priced and have a relaxed vibe. Great corner shop where just hanging out is perfect?
Killer breakfast burrito and love the Mexican mocha ? cozy coffee shop perfect to read or work quietly
I could do my laundry at home...but why? There is a coffee shop connected to a Laundromat!Friendly staff, solid coffee, and variety of fresh made food makes all the difference when choosing where to do laundry. This is a real neighborhood joint and the neighbors are happy to have Carlin's back open ❤️☕

It reopened!! It looks so cute! Maybe under new mgmt? Either way they revamped the interior and it feels like a lovely local spot. Way more light somehow. Very comfy padded seats. In the short time I was there (picking up a to go breakfast sandwich) it was bustling despite being the week of thxgiving & multiple ppl w cute lil dogs came in who seemed to know each other / the owner. We don’t have enough cozy down home cafe type spots anymore — most have been replaced by the minimalist bougie spots like sightglass. So I was glad to see this place reopen w such cute vibes.
Reopened Carlin’s has great coffee and a homey vibe! Mostly the staff are just wonderful :)

Stopped in during the grand reopening and was happy to see a really great corner cafe return to the neighborhood. Great spot for coffee and really great deli sandwiches.

The wf is not seen publicly
Family business or not, closing over an hour early is unprofessional...
