Service good, but food was mediocre. Candied walnuts on salad were rancid/stale. There are so many better options in San Francisco

Toni

The staff were not particularly kind, and the food was just mediocre. I was surprised and disappointed.

Cesario's is a small Italian cafe - which is one of my favorites near Union Square and Theater District.

Went to Cesario's before going to theatre at the Curran. We had an adorable older man as a waiter - he was charming. We had the Pasta Vongole and the Chicken Parm. We didn't have any starters as my husband had had dental surgery that same day. Large amount of clams in the pasta and he enjoyed it. And my Chicken parm had a nice layer of fresh mozzeralla on the top. Two pieces of chicken. It was very tasty and homecooked. I would go back!

I would've liked the server to have some wine knowledge. Asides from that, everything was great. My carbonara was amazing and the ambience was wonderful.

Very disappointing because the reviews were good. Veal was dry and stringy. Caesar salad tasteless. Dessert ±. Service slow and perfunctory. On the plus side it has a great location and good atmosphere.

Great homemade food, went to Cesarios for 3 days in a row, I had no tasted the Cicilyan desert torta this good since I left Argentina over 50 years ago.

Seems to have dropped in quality since our last visit. The tables are very crowded together. We felt like we were sitting in the kitchen! The bread delivery was similar to cafeteria style... small bits of butter in hard to open plastic cubes and the bread was precut out of a plastic bag ....definitely not fitting for an Italian restaurant in San Francisco. Veal dish was tasty as was the spinach salad but the egg plant was hidden under a thick layer of unmelted cheese. Overall we were disappointed and not likely to return.

Even though I made the reservation to celebrate my birthday, they didn't seem to be aware of it. My daughter had to remind our server when we ordered dessert.

Small Italian restaurant in Union Square district. Great service: polite, attentive, accommodating. Menu longer than usual, but selections (Caprese Salad, Veal Parmesan, Penne Arrabiata) were very good. I'd characterize it as a “neighborhood gem”. We ordinarily stay in the Union Square area and will likely return for dinner next time we're in town.

We loved Cesario's! The atmosphere is great. You feel like you discovered a family kitchen. The staff was great, food was excellent, classic Italian!

Staff were super friendly. We were stuck in traffic and called to inform them we would be 15 minutes late and they calmly told us they would adjust our reservation without delay. Food was delicious. Ambience and atmosphere was fun yet a bit Old world. Will absolutely return.

Love the old Italian ambiance. Food was delish. I had the carpaccio for appetizer- it was so tender and buttery. Yum. Also had the salmon picatta for my entree. Wonderful flavors and cooked just right! A bottle of Saldo with a price point that we were tempted to order another bottle! Service was friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to return!

The food and service were great! I felt very comfortable. People are seated close together, but I thought that made it feel cozy. The bill was less than I expected for a dinner in San Francisco. I plan to make a reservation there the next time I go over to Union Square for theatre.
