This place is located in the middle of the action. The food is okay. We had a large group but were split because otherwise we had to choose a sampling menu for $100.00/person which was not worth it. The music was load and made it difficult to talk at the table.

Update: I reached out to them to share my feedback twice since this post, and they simply didn't respond. A very disappointing look and a continuation of the bad service I received.
The food was great but the service was poor at best. They left my parties's bags unattended downstairs, were rude when we asked about them, and we had to go back upstairs to grab them. They also were just uninterested in serving us the entire time we were there.

The ambiance was outstanding. I have never felt so welcome at a place before. Open arms and a great environment to be around. Radolpho (not sure if I spelt his name correctly) and the manager Yasmin (not sure if I also spelt her name correctly) were two of the people I encountered in my short time there. Amazing personalities and hospitality from the both of them.

Restaurant week in San Francisco. Choose the vegetarian option. Plenty of food. The ceviche was delicious. Table matte for a dragon roll that stole the show over all ten dishes.

Came there very surprised of this beautiful restaurant. Amazing decor and beautiful furnitures.
The menus looked fine and we ordered items that we normally do on Asian restaurants.
But…. We were so disappointed when the plates arrived, all the plates were cold and not tasty. Also the service was not good and so overpriced.
They have open kitchen and when we left we had a look in there, nothings fresh when you want to see when you buy sushi and fresh food.
I hope this beautiful restaurant will step up and do better because if not they need will need to close soon.

what’s the point of offering reservations when customers arrive and they aren’t seated until 40 minutes after. no apologizes just blank empty stares from the uninviting hosts. we paid for a pre set 8 course tasting menu and were only served 7. service was passionless with no explanation & when i asked for chips for the ceviche, the server said well its not traditional to be served with chips. but after requesting them again she decided we were allowed to have chips. overall disappointing experience. would never recommend my friend to get dinner here.
Such a cool spot in San Francisco, definitely a must visit if you're looking for some LA or NYC vibes. Rooftop location was unexpected and so fun. We had the salmon and cod dishes, and while pricey without sides, they are really delicious and perfectly cooked. Beats by Ivanna were super on point for the lounge area.

Wow! From the moment we walked in the door we were blown away by the decor & cool atmosphere. The roof top is stunning. Our server Giselle was fabulous, attentive but not overly so. All the staff were very good with one of our party who has an allergy, it was no issue for them adapting the dishes.
Every dish was perfect as were the drinks. Having dined at other Chotto locations this does not disappoint.

We stopped at Chotto Matte last minute on a Sunday evening & were seated immediately. However I do hear they get busy & would call ahead or make reservations. They’re known for their Nikkei cuisine, which is a fusion of Japanese & Peruvian flavors. They have several international locations. We ordered their oyster mushroom tostadas, dragon roll, & sato maki, with a side of mint tea. Everything was delicious, & the sato maki is the roll that they blow torch at your table for those who want some heat & aesthetics. The whole ambiance of the restaurant is stunning. Both indoor & outdoor. We sat outdoor under the heaters. Our server Gio was so helpful & very knowledgeable about the cuisine. We will definitely be coming back!

Disappointing, especially after visiting other locations in Miami and London. Food is absolutely delicious but the service was god awful (our waitress was Lorelei, an older red head with braids). We ordered the deluxe tasting menu, so runners were coming out constantly but our waitress was no where to be found (multiple times we had to flag her down after waiting 15 mins+). The runners were doubling up on our courses, not well timed at all. I had to flag the waitress down multiple times for another drink. It also took us 25-30 mins to be seated with a reservation. For the price point, I expect much more for the service. Won’t becoming back, despite this being our home location. This was our first time going out together since having a baby, and man did it disappoint!

Fantastic rooftop space. Super cool vibe both indoors and outside with lots of seating. We sat outdoors with heating lamp and it was pretty comfortable. The vegan crispy sushi was definitely our favorite. The sushi rolls were good, yet the edamame and parmesan potatoes were dry, and the mushroom tostada was quite mushroom heavy. The Japanese souffle cheesecake was light and refreshing. So, 5 stars on the atmosphere, but 4 stars on the food.

We found this restaurant by chance while walking by, and the entrance looked inviting, so we decided to try it. It’s on a rooftop with a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. The fish was delicious – definitely recommend it!

Chotto Matte has a cool vibe. I wouldn’t go out of the way to go, but if you’re in the area and looking to sit outside on a nice day, it has a terrace outside (with heaters & blankets). There are some menu highlights - yellowtail sashimi with jalepenos was tasty. The sato maki roll was just ok. The service was rather inattentive - ordered a dessert that needed to bake for 15 minutes which she never told us so we were pretty annoyed once it finally showed up. Overall it’s fine - go for the vibes.
