Great vibes, classic bar, great kitchen, everyone (Staff and regulars) is friendly. The food is really amazing for the price point; it’s the type of kitchen that grills a fresh chicken breast when you ask for it on a Caesar salad. They DON’T just dump cold Sysco meat on the salad; they prepare it fresh.

It is exactly what it is, a chill neighborhood sports bar! The grilled artichoke sandwich was better than I expected and salt & vinegar fries were good! Our waitress checked in with us regularly. Tried Trivia Night for the first time, which was fun. No pressure, just a good time!

As a regular at Connecticut Yankee, I’m extremely disappointed in how staff handled racist behavior tonight.

My friends and I were at the bar minding our own business when another patron ; who had been unsuccessfully trying to get our attention ; began directing racist slurs toward us. We did not engage him beyond brief words.

When the bartender was made aware, instead of condemning the slurs or addressing the aggressor, she told both parties that we “just needed to leave.” Equating the targets of racist abuse with the person using it is not neutrality ; it enables the behavior.

Regular customers should not be told to leave because someone else chose to use discriminatory language. The response from staff made it clear that this kind of behavior is tolerated.

Dive bar or not, racism is not a gray area.

Connecticut yankee has such fun trivia on Wednesdays :) unfortunately there is a very rude waitress with green hair that dampens the mood every week. Try to avoid her and her negative attitude if possible. She slams the check on the table at the end of the night, pushes guests around physically, and will verbally bully people. Other than that no complaints :D

Good neighborhood watering hole with lots of New England connection. Food is good overall and drink specials take me back to the 70s and 80s when a shot and a beer WAS the drink special menu. Had a great time, would reccomend.

Really unfriendly waitstaff. Did not receive some food we ordered then they seemed annoyed and unbothered when we asked about it, saying the kitchen was closed at that point. Top to bottom did not seem like staff wanted to be there. Ruined what could have been a neighborhood bar we were excited to try out. Food was good but will certainly not return. Not sure if it was because it was 9-10pm ish. Lots of reserved tables too made seating feel cramped even at that hour.

Connecticut Yankee is one of those neighborhood gems that feels instantly comfortable the moment you walk in. I stopped by for lunch before a show and ended up staying longer because the food and drinks were that good. I tried the CY burger, salt and vinegar fries, and a cold draft beer — everything hit the mark with bold flavors and satisfying portions. The staff were upbeat and attentive without hovering, and the outdoor patio made it easy to enjoy the sunny weather while we chatted. The vibe is casual and lively with plenty of TVs for sports fans, and plenty of locals stopped by for drinks and laughs. Prices were fair for San Francisco and the whole visit felt fun and relaxed.

I got the BLT salad with chicken (tasted amazing for bar food). The server informed me that they’d forgotten to put my chicken on the grill so my salad would be another 5 minutes after others in my party were served, so I was given 50% off of my meal! Very attentive staff and great vibes 12/10 would recommend

I have loved previous experiences here, but the girl with the blue/purple hair might be the rudest waitress/waiter that I have ever had. Otherwise would be my favorite place.

Told to wait in one spot—nobody shows. Move two feet to ask? Bartender screams at me. Then gets shoved paying. Rude, chaotic zoo. Avoid.
