At the time of our visit, the restaurant was not busy, yet the waiter took a while to start our drinks and appetizers. Despite the unnecessary wait for our waiter, the food was good but slightly more expensive than the taste is worth. Crab House at Pier 39 is still a great place to dine. The view is quite amazing!

We specified that my wife is allergic to gluten and the waitress told us that our order was fine. When the dish arrived, my wife ate it and we realized that indeed the food had gluten!! They had to check twice with the kitchen to let us know that celiac disease was not suitable.
It seems to me that at this point with all the nutritional information available, these things should not happen.
I want to emphasize that the service was very good despite the mistake.
It is something that should be resolved by the chef and management.

I read all the wonderful reviews on the actual website, and a friend and I decided to meet there for dinner last night (3/5/25) I was excited about trying out a new spot. The ambience was nice the restaurant was lively and surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night. Our food arrived in a timely manner however, our Server never return to ask if there was anything else needed. Although the crab chowder bowl was tasty, I would have like a little pepper and perhaps some Tabasco to further bring out the flavors. Unfortunately I couldn't get the Servers attention. The garlic noodles were definitely garlicky which wasn't the problem. There was way to much butter/olive oil with no other type of seasoning leaving them bland. The real issue was how the Server popped up and started reaching around the table to remove things as if we were being rushed out. She came back with dessert tray of which we declined then proceed to bring check and clear what she could away. A large group sitting nearby was rushed out after another large group was escorted to their table. Most started trying to finish their wine and gather their things which was obviously awkward for the group that appeared who had to turn around and give them room to leave. Our Server offered to-go containers and appeared impatient that we weren't leaving. Our entire dinner from beginning to end was 50 mins( with my friend trying to eat a whole crab which takes time) and we felt very rushed. Overall our experience was just "ok" therefore I wouldn't rush back anytime soon. We did however appreciate the 1 hour parking validation.

I had a very disappointing experience at this seafood restaurant. To my surprise, they didnât give me any change backânot even a single dollar! I waited, thinking it was just a mistake, but they acted like nothing was wrong. This feels like theyâre forcing customers to leave a big tip without asking. The seafood was okay, but this kind of service is unacceptable. If you eat here, be extra careful when paying, or you might just âloseâ your change. I wonât be coming back!

The food is great, but the staff is not. I had an unpleasant experience with the Asian staff. Chopino, pasta, and crab fried rice were really delicious and the best meals. The unkindness of the staff is a memory I want to forget.

Our experience got off to an unacceptably frustrating start. On January 2, 2025, between 7:00 PM and 7:40 PM, the hosts insisted that we couldnât be seated until our entire party was present. Yet, when the rest of our party arrived, they were seated immediatelyâwithout waiting for me, as I had been told was required. When I pointed this out and tried to join my group, the hosts claimed they had pushed me back on the list and almost didnât let me in.
This kind of inconsistent and unfair treatment is not only unprofessional but also incredibly rude. If the policy is that all members of a group must be present, then it should be applied to everyone equallyânot arbitrarily.
Thankfully, the actual dining experience helped salvage the evening. Our servers were excellentâattentive, polite, and efficientâand the food was very good. However, the poor customer service at the start left a lasting negative impression. The management should seriously consider training their hosts to ensure fair and respectful treatment of all guests.

OMG. This place is very unclean. The staff is not friendly and they harass you. The male hosts are aggressive and not polite. The food is mid and I will not be coming back or recommending this location. Theyâre prejudiced and classist. Certain people that look a certain way get treated better than others. Its a very uncomfortable environment when youâre a pov.
