The place is very small inside and tables are pretty close together. Service is wonderful. I went with a Malaysian friend who introduced me to some traditional dishes.
Everything was very good!

Friends have been raving about this place so we finally found a night that worked. Weave a reservation although there were lots of seats available by the time we arrived. We had never had Malaysian food so followed their lead. Luckily, their menu was also very descriptive so you’ll be fine even if you didn’t have experienced guides to help. My daughter saw keropok (aka shrimp chips) at the other table so we ordered. She also tried the sirap bandung (rose water, lime and lactose free cows milk) which she enjoyed. We ordered the curry puff set which they limit per table and can only be ordered for dine in. It was delicious and I can see why they limit it to make sure that everyone gets to try it. It was a cold day so we had a couple orders of the noodle soup which hit the spot. The rest ordered the rendang which also has a vegetarian option made with jackfruit instead of beef. We split the best green which was ok but I wouldn’t say was “the best”. Sadly, we passed on the dessert as it didn’t tickle our fancy.

Vegetarian options: Rendang with jackfruit

It was OKAY. Everything tasted too sweet and watered down.

Simply wonderful. We are fans of Malaysian (and Singaporean) food and this place didn't disappoint. There's a nice variety to the nenu and we were able to try a few things we haven't had before. The garlic chips, pork belly, and cereal chicken were all wonderful. We will visit again!

Best soju cocktails I have ever had! And our waitress Sarah was so sweet and so quick! I loved chatting with her while she gave me recommendations on the menu.

Had the Asam Laksa. Definitely meaty and asam. But the noodles were mushy and the broth lukewarm. Must have sat for a while before getting to my table. Not enough garnish, missing crunch of cucumber, herbaceousness of mint/coriander and sweet sour punch of pineapple. For $25, the portion size was disproportionately small. Not my first time here — should’ve known better than to give in to an impulsive craving for one of my favorite soups. Disappointed again.

So so good. How such a capable restaurant can go under-heralded in Noe I'll never understand. Go often, order everything and tell your friends.

The laksa curry was watery and bland without the rich coconut flavor. The popiah lacked taste. The taro cake had too much 5 spice powder and was topped with fried garlic instead of fried shallots. The satay was tasty, but the sauce wasn't thick and peanutty. The service was just okay. Overall, it was mediocre.

(I am not Malaysian, Malaysian-American, or from Southeast Asia)
I was so excited to hear of Damansara opening and that it was a 100% Malaysian-woman-owned restaurant to boot. I've really enjoyed my two experiences at Damansara so far (one was dine-in and the other takeout). The hospitality was great and makes the best of the ambience available in that particular building. I've gotten hooked on the Damansara Laksa so far, but also really enjoyed the grilled Otak-Otak, the Best Greens, and the roti. I'm so grateful for chef Tracy and the team for bringing such a meaningful restaurant to the neighborhood and I'm excited to explore the menu and talents beyond the deliciousness I've experienced so far.

The laksa is the best in SF! I had the laksa with chicken and shrimp while my partner had the vegan laksa. They were both delicious. The vegan broth is spectacular.

Amazing authentic and delicious Malaysian food! I haven't had such a great flaky curry puff since I left Singapore.
