I'm so happy Delfina is open again. The pasta is perfectly cooked. The waiter gave us excellent advice on the wine. The atmosphere is great. An amazing experience.
It was amazing as always! This was a business dinner, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Some took photos since they loved the plating so much. I'm sure you will see positive reviews coming from the rest of my party.
We love Delfina! Last night was a celebration of a birthday and the team at Delfina helped make it really special. We had a booth, which we love and is so good for conversation. Drinks, food, a candle at the end of the meal, all perfect. Thank you!
We relied on our server's recommendations and I'm glad we did. I would never have thought that butter curls and anchovies were a good pairing, but they are. It was a delicious starter. My husband had the short ribs and loved them. I had the spaghetti pomodoro, which was the server's recommendation that confirmed my own inclination. We had the Del Campo salads, also a lovely addition. I loved the atmosphere too. I watched the crowds walk by through the big window behind the bar while my husband looked for parking and I sipped prosecco. Lovely.
My first time at this venerable Mission institution and it did not disappoint! Excellent food, service, vibe.
Was fine - service took ages, we caught their eyeline and still didn't come back Food was good - little expensive
It's all about the pastas here. The duck pappardelle was over the top good. The 3 cheese ravioli was also excellent. The red snapper was good and the pear tart was average at best The menu is a bit limiting as 2 of the 4 entrees are for 2 people. Great service, cool vibe
Great food and exceptional service. Interesting menu and presentation. Would highly recommend.
The food was wonderful; the service was incredible (I can't remember our server's name but he was in a blue shirt and had shoulder length blonde hair - he was fantastic: attentive, knowledgeable on the food and wine so gave great recommendations, good fun). The ambience in the outdoor seating isn't the best but it wasn't an issue for us, it's better suited to casual dining.
Food couldn't be beat. And the service was excellent. One of the best meals we've had in a long time.

The restaurant was much better in the past. The portion sizes were quite small, and the food was quite expensive. However, the new facelift of the restaurant was very nice. The server was attentive and friendly.
This throwback Italian eatery is what springs to mind when you think about a neighborhood dining destination. Unpretentious, welcoming, bustling - ready to make you comfortable, serve you good food in return for you hard earned money, and to do so without any fakery.
The aroma in the air was warm and nostalgic. The burratta was incredible, the tomatoes in season. The ragu hearty and wholesome. The cherry pie pizza was light & filling simultaneously. The petroleum sole was sauced with nuance and spice.
Our service was excellent. Suggested a bottle of white and red for the table - wine i had never heard of, but they were both well received!!

Delfina has a charming, intimate atmosphere but falls short on value, very overpriced!!
We tried the Wood-Grilled Octopus ($25), Delfino Anchovies & Butter ($12), and Root-Down Duck Breast ($42).
While presentation was beautiful, portions were disappointingly small for the premium prices.
The Delfino Anchovies were the highlight - unique and reasonably priced. However, the duck breast was underwhelming - only four thin slices for $42, and the flavor didn't justify the cost, extremely overpriced!
Service at the bar was inattentive.
Cocktails (The Silvanito & Occhi d'Angelo) were well-crafted.
With SF's 7% mandate and high prices that don't match portion sizes or taste, unlikely to return.

Always a wonderful night at Delfina... there is a real reason they have been so successful for so long. Viva la pizza!
Service was outstanding, from greeting to wine service. Our server Julian was outstanding. Food exceeded expectations on every course.
