Always get the thousand layer cake !
My family has been getting our desserts here since before I was born. And I was born in 1980.
This is a cute little bakery and very busy most of the time. The service was great, but it felt so rushed that I didn’t get to see all the options because there was a long line behind me. Good business, I suppose.
I ordered a few slices of their cake options: strawberry shortcake, mango tres leches (not the traditional version), tiramisu, and carrot cake. My favorite was the carrot cake—it had the perfect balance of moisture and sweetness, and you could tell they used fresh ingredients. I hope my next visit isn’t as busy so I can explore all the options and try more!
My mother and I had small metal particles in our sliced cakes. I'm not going back.
Great cakes and service !!
Probably the best cakes in San Francisco
My family ordered a birthday cake and asked for banana but was told it wasnt in season…bananas are in season year round..??? If ur out just say that but even then it was a weird interaction…if your gonna have workers bring up season then make sure they know atleast
Multiple employees ignoring customers, stood there for 10 minutes at the counter with employee just walking back and forth then decided to help someone that had just walked in. Ended up leaving complete waste of time
Didn’t see any vegan pastries. They very clearly put less effort into their vegan cakes than their non-vegan cakes and the taste was mediocre to match—like the little dessert cakes you get at a buffet. Updated from previous review on 2026-03-01
Although the cake was good, the overall experience was disappointing due to rude and unprofessional customer service.I hope this can be addressed.

Best cake in the world 🌎
I'm pretty sure I'm related to these folks so...automatic five stars even though I'm reading not everything is always fresh. If this is the family that had part ownership in the Bank of Italy with AP Giannini, then...please take me home.
Diana's has always been a family institution for special dates. This past weekend. We celebrate two special birthdays. My father's 93rd and my daughters 36th .
They made a saint honoree cake for my wedding and it was fantastic!!
Heavenly but problematic.. We arrived at Dianda's about 30 minutes before closing. The server was very patient and boxed up a delectable assortment of pastries for us. When we tried them half an hour later, it was like rum cake heaven (and the chocolate pastries were out of this world).
But be warned - if you go there after 6:30pm, the cleaning person is already mopping around you with a foul-smelling floor cleaner (bleach..?) Frankly this almost put us off buying anything, and also gave us awful allergy headaches later that night. We loved the pastries and will go back for more - but never close to closing time! (7pm).
