Dim The Way is a new dimsum place with a small menu, but for good reason. Everything is handmade and fresh. The rice rolls are strongly recommended. Every other generic dimsum place gets the same shrimp dumplings and siumai shipped in frozen, but this place makes all the fillings and wrappers from scratch in their kitchen. Despite appearances, it is one of the best dimsum places in SF. The rice rolls are so so good. The rice roll itself isn’t too thick, and they give a lot of filling. The meal is also huge. You cannot beat the price; less than $10 for a meal. The service is also great, and the food was done incredibly quick. The pork rice roll is $6.80, and the bbq pork wonton lo mein is $13. The beef stew lo mein is $13. The minced pork cheung fun is $6.80. The wonton noodles remain excellent. The beef stew noodles with wontons, the pork congee, and the steamed rice rolls are all great. The rice rolls are a “great find” even better than some sit-down fancy dim sum places anywhere. The texture of the rice rolls is perfect: fresh made hot, with cilantro and spring onions, and plenty of fresh shrimps. The steamed beef rice rolls are just as good. The beef stew noodles with wonton are also great. The cleanliness is superb, the food is delicious, and the young man working the front is exceptional at hosting. The owner/staff is friendly and welcoming. It is nice to see a family owned restaurant busy. The chef is the dad, his children are waiting on tables. The chef speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. Free hot tea is fragrant. Clean. Genuinely nice people. Good job team at Dim The Way.
