“Orphan Andy’s is an iconic San Francisco gem! I always go here for breakfast and especially love ordering their Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Walnut Butter and a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. The service is fast and friendly. And the decor makes you feel like you’re eating at a local neighborhood dive spot (which you are) with its string lights and party streamers! All in all a great spot with great food and a great atmosphere!“

“The food was decent. You get a lot of food for the price. The staff was quiet and serviceable. We were grateful to find them open, almost everything else on the street was closed or boarded up. We had arrived too early to get into our air bnb, and needed to hang somewhere close. We didn't know the neighborhood at all. There seemed to be 2-3 times more of the homeless in the streets of San Francisco, compared to home. This made me sad.
We had to suddenly leave, I think because we were the only people there and the last staff person wanted to go home.“

“I stopped by this family-owned diner while visiting San Francisco, and it instantly became one of my favorite breakfast spots. You can feel the care and pride the family puts into their food and service the moment you walk in.

I ordered the scrambled eggs with hashbrowns, white toast, and cooked ham — everything was cooked perfectly. The eggs were soft and fluffy, the hashbrowns had that perfect crispy-on-the-outside texture, and the ham was flavorful and cooked just right. Even the toast came out warm and perfectly toasted. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and really know their way around a breakfast plate.

The atmosphere is welcoming and has that classic, comforting diner feel. The staff was kind, attentive, and made me feel right at home. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why family-owned restaurants are so special.

They’re cash-only, which wasn’t a problem at all — honestly it adds to the charm and old-school vibe of the place.

If you’re in San Francisco and want a delicious, heartfelt breakfast made with real care, I highly recommend stopping by. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip!“

“We came in on a Friday afternoon looking for some quality fare, and were taken care of by Jasmin herself and her coworker at the time. We had the cheeseburger and double burger, and all of the sides (tater tots, fries, onion rings). Not only was all the food freshly cooked in front of us, everything was perfectly crispy, and packed with flavor.

And Jasmin! I'm going to echo all the comments made by others and just say she is the sweetest host. She's about as Korean ajumma as you can get, in terms of hospitality and making sure you're fed. She's ready to make your day the best way she can, and with a smile on her face.

I hope she continues to be a staple of the neighborhood for the next 20 years and beyond!

“I hope these classic city diners never go out of business. Perfect stop before or after a theater visit nearby. Choose from the Horseshoe bar or the Celebrity room. Food is classic NY deli style with the perfect ambiance of great tunes and comfortable stools. Wait staff seem like they were cast from a movie. I heard at least 2 languages beside English from customers and staff held conversations with all of them. This is a perfect example of why I love San Francisco and hope it never changes.“

“5 stars on atmosphere since I ordered to go, but it seemed pretty peaceful and clean.

I'm a pretty no frills guy, and in that respect, the food was on point. Hashbrown were perfectly crispy, bacon was perfectly rendered and great to munch on, and the biscuts and gravy were as awesome as comfort food as I grew up with. The scrambled eggs were not overcooked or dry. I just wish I had some tabasco sauce to eat it with. Kudos for earning me as a returning customer after one trip.“

“I saw this place on DoorDash and decided to give it a try. They’re known for their Hong Kong style barbecue and I have to give it a shot. My delivery took a bit longer than expected, but that does not bother me since I’m a very patient person. On the other hand the food was okay and it definitely can be better. I rwpuld ecommend this place for anyone looking for a quick bite. Maybe I will be back to try out other items.“
