Dingles Public House is a fairly new, small quaint Irish style restaurant located in a hotel by the opera house, offering a cozy modern pub ambiance. The space is beautiful, dimly lit, cozy, really chic, and elegant yet lowkey with a very European vibe. It is an ideal spot for a refined casual dinner before a show, perfect for a date night or a long dinner with friends.
The menu features a unique take on Irish dishes. Standout items include the fantastic fish and chips, considered among the best in Norcal with super crispy batter and proper chips. The sausage roll, with insanely flaky pastry and juicy filling, completely steals the show. Other excellent dishes are the scotch eggs with a jammy center, the rich Welsh rarebit, the delicious beef and Guinness pie, the fantastic chicken Kyiv, and a juicy burger on a toasty bun. They are known for an absolutely decadent Sunday roast and a pie night on Wednesdays. Desserts like the sticky toffee pudding are warm, rich, and worth it.
The service is great, super friendly, family-like, and attentive with an efficient workflow. The drink menu is fun with a good selection, including yummy cocktails like the Breakfast Martini. While priced as one of the $$$ lunches in the city, it is considered great value and totally worth it. The atmosphere has great energy, charming elegant bar vibes, and is not too crowded, where everyone seems to be enjoying the lively pulse of the city's arts scene. It is a pleasant surprise and a place to absolutely go out of your way for.
