I came here with my family years ago for XLB and recalled they had really good XLB back then.
Came back for XLB in 11/2024, but their quality has drastically lowered since then.
The servers were definitely lacking in service and quality as well. More than half way through our meal, we noticed one of our orders still hasn't arrived. We called our server over to check on the status of that order, they said "oh, we forgot to put in that order. Then do you still want it?" In a very haughty and annoyed tone at us like it was our fault they forgot to place the order.
On check out, they were very pushy and aggressive. We paid with card and were double checking the check to see if the orders and price were correct as well as calculating the tip. The staff hovered over us and were pointing at the line where to sign and saying "just sign there! Just sign there!" Keep in mind that there wasn't a line, no one was waiting for our table, and I could see at least two other tables empty. There was no need to rush us out the door or to sign the check.
Update [12/2/24]: Just checking the monthly CC statement and was surprised to have been overcharged... by 6¢. Turned the perfectly rounded full dollar total ($XXX.00) to add 6¢ to the end... ($XXX.06). The subtotal was $XX.99. I had specifically wrote in the tips line $XX.01. Shame.

Good dumplings (I much prefer the boiled to steamed), good service, decent atmosphere. Friendly to non-Chinese speakers.

Prices have started to get too high. Used to be a good deal. Please bring back $10 soup dumplings.
Had to wait way too long for my order of soup dumplings even though it wasn’t very busy.
Pea sprouts used to be more flavorful.
Please bring back the quality and prices from 4-5 years ago.

I’ve tried a wide variety of foods here, and most of them have been good with the exception of the scallion pancake, which tasted nothing like a traditional scallion pancake. Their version is very thick and fluffy without the flaky layers, similar to a puffy flatbread.
It’s best to go to this place with a group because the prices are a bit on the high end if dining solo or ordering for takeout.
The staff was very attentive, and knowledgeable.

We ordered 3 kinds of dumplings and wow, were they delicious!!
The staff was very lovely and very fast.
It was busy, because it was early afternoon on a Saturday, but we found a table and everything was clean.
What I liked especially was that there was quite a few vegetarian options. That's a big plus for me!
We highly recommend this restaurant!!

Can’t believe it took me years to finally visit this spot! My friend dragged me here since it’s her favorite dumpling spot in the city and honestly after trying it, I can see why. We were easily sat around 6pm on a weekday and the staff were so nice and recognized my friend as a returning local!
In the back is a nice older lady hand rolling the dumplings that you can see. Our orders came
so quick and the portions are generous for what you pay! We started with complimentary green tea, green beans, chicken wings, and pork and chive dumplings. Then we got XLBs (2 orders because it was that good), pork/shrimp shumai, fried pork buns, and egg custard buns.
Do NOT skip on this place. It’s such a delicious and affordable dumpling spot that’s locally ran. The bathroom just needs work because there were a lot of flies everywhere and it’s a little dirty.

First, my low rating is not due to food but just the place being dishonest/sneaky on the service charge.
Be careful if you're party of 5 or more. They don't provide the breakdown of charges and do not cross out the tip which makes one assume that the tip has not been charged yet. After receiving the check for $178 and my husband adding another 18% tip, I stopped him as I thought that was too steep for 6 dishes. I had to ask for receipt, waited for a long time and had to ask twice before they gave it. It's good I asked for the breakdown otherwise we would've paid 36% on service. Because of that, the eatery left a bad taste in my mouth. It was intentional that they wanted to get 36% tip.
This place is dumpling kitchen because their dumplings were actually pretty good and flavorful. The crab dumpling and fried pork bun , I highly recommend.
Beef chowmein, dry chicken wings, pea sprout with garlic and walnut shrimp were also delicious.
Braised Pork belly with bok choy was very fatty and sticky and not our favorite. I wouldn't recommend it.

Pickup order over an hour and a half late. No hustle from the staff. No apology. “Just keep waiting, just keep waiting.” Finally a “oh we gave your order to somebody else.” Note to the staff: apologizing for a screw up won’t poison your children. Making things right with your customers won’t kill you. 0/5 star service.
