I’m not gonna be back! The food is good but the service terrible. After sitting a long wait to order. No one told was that was already the last call ( just past 8:00 PM) . The minimum they could do was to accept one other plate order from us! This is basic! Then we waited to get our checkStaff is taking care of deliveries and forgot the salon.Awful experience !

Mmm dumplings here are so good. Wait was only a few minutes at lunchtime and easy with the yelp app.Green bean appetizer - perfectly cooked and crispy with great pepper garnishes and flavor.Scallion pancake - solid appetizer, crispy and great scallion flavor.Juicy pork dumplings - a favorite! So tasty and flavorful, someone mentioned they were too sweet but I didn’t get that at all. Love the juiciness.Chicken scallion - ooh these tasted so good. I was afraid chicken might be dry but these were our second favorite dumpling!Mongolian beef boiled - meh, saw another reviewer say these were their favorite but I felt they were pretty bland. Like a 4/10 for us.Next time I’d love to try the steamed dumplings. We were just so stuffed!

The food was very tasty ? and service was fast and attentive. The beef noodle soup’s flavour was too strong for my taste but all the other dishes I ordered were amazing.

During my recent dining experience at Dumpling Story Restaurant, I was met with an overwhelmingly disappointing level of service, particularly from Shobi , whose conduct exuded a marked lack of professionalism. This was evident in a lack of attentiveness and a dismissive attitude, detracting significantly from the overall ambiance. Coupled with culinary offerings that were regrettably lackluster, characterized by bland flavors and meager portions, the entire dining experience left much to be desired. The overall cleanliness of the establishment, notably the restroom facilities, also fell short of expected standards. In summary, this visit failed to meet even the most basic expectations, and I am unable to recommend it to discerning diners.

The food here is alright, but it doesn’t compare to dumpling home. If you’re looking for soup dumplings that’s a better option.

We used to go to “Dumpling Home” in Hayes Valley but then my husband read that they have opened a new location on Fillmore Street! We checked out today and it’s modern looking and as delicious - menu is the same, no long lines, service was impeccable! As always, so happy this business offers vegan options, the only dumpling place we go to!Dietary restrictions: Vegan

I grew up in a Chinese restaurant so my bar for any kind of Chinese food is very high. There are rarely ever any Chinese restaurants that I'd return to, never mind feel confident in bringing other people with me... this is one of those rare gems. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service has been really nice. I love this place and would recommend a visit to try any of their items. My favorites are the pan fried pork juicy bao, braised beef noodle soup, green beans, and pig ears. All of their recipes are super authentic.

Food favorites: spicy pan fried pork buns (must have here and any of their sister restaurants), dan dan noodles (really great flavor and ground pork), brussels sprouts actually unexpectedly very tasty Service: food is delicious but service was the disappointment for me - took awhile for us to get the menu and there was minimal service throughout the meal considering the setting and price point. Might be a one off occurrence since it was a busy sunday lunch time Vibes: Westernized setting but good asian flavors

Good dumplings, but a tad overpriced. Same owners as Dumpling Home. We came on a late Sunday afternoon, thinking that by 2PM, we would have avoided the lunch crowd. TOTALLY wrong. We had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated (that Yelp waitlist is great at estimated wait time!) and even when we were finally seated, there was a small line outside the door the whole time we were there. What we ordered - veggie friendly: Vegetable dumplings ($8.95 for 8 pieces) - decent, a bit sweet? filled with corn and something else. Vegetable bao ($13.95) - bland, not worth it Green onion pancake ($9.95) - flat and not flaky, would pass Green beans ($13.95) - good flavor and crunchy, veggies were fresh! Brussels sprouts ($16.95) - couldn't really taste the truffle salt at all. Also, kinda weird having brussels on the menu at a Chinese restaurant. Braised eggplant ($16.95) - very saucy and also more on the sweeter side than savory. I felt like I needed a big bowl of rice to offset the sauciness. For the meat eaters (I didn't have any of the following): Dan dan mein ($15.95) - we were trying to order zha jiang mein but ended up getting this instead somehow. Pork bao ($13.95) - I heard these were decent, but my group has had better sheng jian baos elsewhere. They were also weirdly flat compared to what's traditionally expected. Crab and pork XLB ($13.95 for 4 pieces) - Not sure if it's worth $3.50/dumpling, but that's personal preference. Total came to be $140 before tip for 3 people. Service was actually quite good for a Chinese restaurant, but majority of the patrons weren't Asian, so probably had to up the service game for the targeted clientele. Traditional authentic Chinese restaurants can't be bothered with good service, only the food quality matters. I prefer the ambience of Dumpling Home better, but if you're in the area, have a craving for dumplings, and don't mind paying a bit more for the ambience, have at it.
