This place is such a hidden gem. The food was amazing, comparable / better than other “dumpling X” restaurants in the city. Highly recommend!
We got: - XLB: dough was really great and very soupy - chili wontons: so good, loved the sauce - steamed shrimp / chive / pork dumplings: really good, very soupy - green beans: a classic - chocolate and banana XLB: loved this, imo on par with Ding Tai Fung - big plate chicken: this was the weakest dish but this is a very difficult dish to make
Service was great also, and very affordable prices

This place is pretty special. We dined in for lunch without much expectation. But we were pleasantly surprised. We had the garlic cucumber, steamed xiao long bao, and the pan-fried xiao long bao between the two of us. The flavors were quite on point. The dumpling skins were thin and cooked to the perfect amount of chewiness. The pan-fried XLBs were quite special; I've never seen them half fried like this before. The shape holds up all the soup inside. We will definitely be back for more and to try their noodles out. There were a couple tables around us that sounded like regular customers, so that's reassuring!
The place is clean, the staff is friendly. It's more modern than a typical hole-in-the-wall dumpling place.
Parking: The location of this place is not the easiest to get to. When coming from the south (from Dewey Circle), the flow of car traffic makes it such that once you drive past this restaurant, it's not easy to loop back around (just park on Dewey, south of Laguna Honda, and walk). There is a small parking lot north of the restaurant, but you can only access that lot if you are coming from the north.

But two people in my lunch got food poisoning after eating here on Wednesday 9/27/2024. I would not recommend unless you want to lose weight. They should be inspected for a health code violations.

Best dumpling spot in sf which is saying a lot. Every dish had a very unique sauce which made the meal. The pork wonton with chili oil was so tender and had a delicious peanut sauce. The garlic green beans were also surprisingly addicting. Star of the show was the pot stickers, massive with crispy skin and whole shrimp. Shanghai XLB were the perfect comfort food. Worth the trip!

Best dumpling hands down that I’ve tried. There is a huge amount of soup in the dumplings, just make sure you don’t break it! Highly recommended to try if you have been disappointed by other dumpling restaurants.
