Exceeded my expectations! I’ve been wanting to go here for a month or so… and just had a lovely lunch with my aunt and son. A new neighborhood favorite!! Came just before the lunch rush on a Saturday and sat right down. Friendly charming Service, bright large windows full of sun, colorful fun art murals and intense flavors in food. Burger with Brie, bacon and caramelized onions stole the show, but smoked salmon egg crossiant was tasty and salad with house cured jamon was killer with huge portion. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu soon

I liked the vibe of this restaurant as a neighborhood cafe with a large common table. We showed up at 11:30 with maybe two other tables seated. We ordered from an “uninterested” waitress who gave us no eye contact. I asked for the table to be wiped down since our napkins and (forearms) were stuck to the table. She said the tables are naturally sticky. The restaurant started to fill up. We waited 40 minutes and saw 4 other tables get their orders ahead of us. I’ve never had escargot on a puff pastry covered in cream mushroom soup. It was cold. My mussels were fine. The ham sandwich and French onion soup was okay. For $96 I don’t think I will return.

French onion soup was of solid quality, a very appropriate option for a cool November afternoon. The salmon was cooked to perfection: juicy and flavorful. The chocolate dessert tasted very good. The staff was very attentive and helpful, the light pacific vibe of the place helped me relax. The place does deserve its title of the local gem. Don't forget to put on a jacket or a vest: it's Outer Sunset's weather outside, after all.

Fun neighborhood bistro serving French classics. Arrived at 515pm on a Saturday evening, and waited about 20 mins for a party of 3. All the food was solidly executed. Plenty of by-the-glass options for wine. Friendly staff. I could see this being a regular spot to get my bistro fix in the Outer Sunset.
Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with children, and they have a kid's menu too

Spontaneous decision to try Galinette out on Saturday night. Called in advance to check the wait. Told it would likely be about 20 minutes. Arrived shortly and sat for ... 20 minutes, but the friendly owner took our drink order and (awesome) home made tapenade so the time passed quickly. Entrees were meat (hanger steak, hamburger) only because that was our craving this visit. Both excellent. Service was terrific, including owners, even though the place was humming. Can't wait to come back for breakfast as well as enjoying the seafood for dinner.
This is what we wanted for a neighborhood bistro.

Cute spot and the outdoor mural is fantastic but I felt like the food and service were kind of lacking. I had the egg omelette with gruyere and added mushrooms, a side salad, and a mimosa. The omelette wasn’t that great and while the mimosa was only $8, it was a very small pour.
That said, I would be willing to try it again as maybe I just caught them on a bad day or got too bland of a choice.
Chicken pesto sandwich and cheese omelette with bacon were very yummy

We got their special, the Bourride. It was lukewarm, bland, and had a bitter after-taste. The staff were cold and offered no insight into what the food was but I noticed they were warmer to other diners. It was a very disappointing experience.

Galinette is such a special place. They have delicious twists on French cuisine ( love the Parisienne mesclun salad and Bourride! ) The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is casual, friendly and has an electric energy. It is well worth the wait!

We are happy to have this friendly spot in our neighborhood with some honest and tasty French cafe food, an open kitchen, outdoor cafe tables and an ample indoor family table. The Good wine selection and friendly staff make this place a regular stop on our rotation. Look for special brunch menus on Saturday and Sunday, and enjoy a nice walk on the Great Highway or Ocean Beach before or after your meal.

Food was excellent but $21 for al carte burger +7 dollars for fries is ridiculous. You’re gouging the neighborhood. Get a grip on your prices, wont he back.

Food is pretty good, great wine selection, but the lighting is pretty bad. PLEASE PLEASE change the lightbulbs! The vibes were really off with the harsh bright white fluorescent lighting (like a hospital). If they swapped the bulbs for some nice warm/amber tones, the atmosphere would be dramatically improved in a romantic and cozy way. It’s probably better to go here during the day/early evening before they turn the light on ?

We were thrilled to see a new restaurant, let alone a French one, in the outer Parkside. So excited that we went twice in a week. The first time for brunch - had the salmon/egg croissant. Then went for dinner a few days later - had the spaghetti, which was soo good, w/glass of Bordeaux, also very good. The food was great and service excellent. The best part are their hours 9:30am-9:30pm and daily! It's hard to find a good place to eat, let alone nearby, after 9pm out west in the city. We usually have to drive elsewhere. They have really nice French wine choices and did a great job with the place. We're happy to add them in our mix of businesses to support since their service is excellent and it's walkable. Welcome, Galinette, to the neighborhood! Please stay ??
