Absolutely one of the strangest evenings- we finished our meal and at 9.45 he light of restaurant we put on fully and then we were tile at 9.55 that the restaurant was closing-on a Thursday night!. There were 4 tables left and we all had to leave! We'll never go back. Terrible, inhospitable, unprofessional...

We have celebrated November birthdays at Garibaldi's in Oakland or SF for more than 25 years, always ordering the marinated lamb loin. We even call to be sure they have enough for the four of us. It is so good we don't go pursuing false gods. With good luck and the stream don't rise, we'll be back next November.

Our entrees were excellent as well as the meatballs appetizer. The Caesar salad was lacking as well as one of the desserts was stodgy, the lemon muffin. Otherwise it was an enjoyable evening and the main courses were superb. We will return. Just hope they can improve on the Caesar salad in particular.

The host was very professional and set the bar for the rest of the evening. The food was very good as was the service.

Overall, very good neighborhood spot. Great food and ambiance. However, extremely too loud to enjoy the evening.

Pro move: sit at the bar and order the pappardelle with a glass of pinot noir and chat with Carlos. Everything about that experience was exceptional. We couldn’t choose between the budino or the strawberry shortcake for dessert so we had both…delish! :) Carlos and team are wonderful, so much so that we didn’t want to leave. My aunt and uncle live in the area and recommended it to me and I’m so glad I went to check it out. Will be back for sure next time i’m in town.

Seated early. Great Negroni cocktail. Good size avocado salad. Great eggplant parm entree w/glass of Pinot. Fantastic cheesecake desert.

The noise level was way to high to have a pleasant dinner experience. Food was excellent and service was great. But the noise level was terrible. Wish they had offered us the up stairs seating. Almost ruined my wife's 70th Birthday celebration. The mirrors and acoustics just amplified the noise to wear conversation was nearly impossible.

It's been awhile since I've had dinner here. I won't wait so long for next time. Impeccable meal, great service, nice ambiance. Highly recommend!

The food was excellent and enjoyable. The service was vaguely attentive - last time it was worse - and the noise level was annoyingly loud. I live close by and like having Garibaldi's near me, but the service seems to be an issue.

Always an outstanding experience. My friend and I order the chopped salad with the chicken parm on it. Soooo good! Service is excellent as well.

Food was outstanding. Adored the pasta bolognese, best ever. Our server, Milton is a treasure. Highly recommend!

I love the preparations at Garibaldi's both the black cod and the steak/frites were melt in your mouth. And it's a beautiful interior. Get there early to find parking. I'd recommend it for romantic evening or serious business. My only complaint this time was that our main course was delivered before we were half done with our salads. It wasn't packed so there was no reason to rush us through the dinner.

On July 31, 2025, our 11th wedding anniversary took an unfortunate turn at Garibaldi's, a trendy neighborhood spot in San Francisco's Presidio Heights, located at 347 Presidio Avenue. Despite its reputation for good food and service, our experience fell short. We'd recommend checking reviews or alternatives before visiting. Despite having a 6 pm reservation, we were seated in a corner spot near the portable lift, which was not suitable for my partner's mobility needs. When I requested a table change, the hostess and waiter, Anthony, were uncooperative. Unfortunately, Anthony's behavior was unacceptable, as he stepped on my shoes and bumped into me without offering an apology. The hostess also declined our request to sit by the window, citing noise concerns, despite the overall loud atmosphere in the restaurant. Feeling disrespected and discriminated against, we chose to leave. The owner apologized and offered a gift card when we spoke with him, but we declined, as we were seeking improved service rather than compensation. In contrast, our experience at Zuni Cafe was exceptional. We were seated promptly by the window upstairs, and the service was outstanding. The wait staff was polite, apologetic, and attentive. The food was good, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Given the stark difference in service quality, we will likely return to Zuni Cafe and avoid Garibaldi's in the future.
