Came weekend night and the place is packed. The decor is decent and moody. We ordered pork chops and Chicken Milanese. Both tasted great and portions were good. We don’t care the roasted carrots appetizer too much. It was overcooked and too much honey given the vegetable itself is sweet already.

Always love garibaldis - last night was an odd experience with our server. We ordered a bottle of sparkling and he didn't bring it to the table to show us the bottle or open it. Instead he brought a filled glass to the table. When I asked about it, he said it's a heavy bottle, would be hard to pour across the table. Ultimately, he said, I just didn't. It was fine, and his service was good, but I wondered if “rules” are changing? This happened once in NYC restaurant and the server opened the wine at the bar, and decanted it- we refused it until we saw an unopened bottle and it was open in front of us- what's this about?

Food is good but not amazing. Service is poor. I've visited multiple times and they are clearly short-staffed. The last two times there was no one at the front podium to greet new diners walking in. We had to wait several minutes standing visibly in the entry area for someone to approach and verify that we had a reservation. Our appetizer came out late, just before our entrees. The menu price for bread&butter is $3. Most places give bread for free, but fair enough... When the bill showed up I noticed that they explicitly charged "$3x2=$6" because two of us shared the bread! They also attached a 6% surcharge to the bill. And tax was calculated on top of that. I felt robbed and this dampened the dining experience.

The kitchen is snail pace slow, service is poor leaving dishes on table long after course is finished

I used to go to this restaurant years ago and someone took me recently during the holidays and I actually have to say I'm in love with it. I'm in love with the food they make you feel special like they've known you for a long time. I have to say one of the best martinis in the city and definitely the pasta.🎉

Good wines/mocktails by the glass. Started with the artichoke dip and cheesy puffs which were perfect. Chicken milanese, black cod & burger were delicious. Friendly, informative and efficient wait staff.

Lovely bottle of champagne was served in coups. Miso cod was served with skin on (was not crispy skin). Cocktail arrived barely before meal was served. Wine to go with meal was not delivered with or before meal and we had to ask for it to be served. Overall, lackluster service and food could have been a notch higher.

Everything's was perfect. It would have just been nice if the hostess would have been acknowledging everyone in our party equally not just my husband. ;)

Chicken was like leather.... Overcooked and tough Relatively pricey for quality and quantity of the food

My wife and I have been coming to Garibaldi's for over 20 years. We love the food, but it's the staff—who feel like family—that keep us coming back. A special shoutout to Carlos, whose high level of service during happy hour always elevates the experience. You truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the bar during happy hour has an energetic, welcoming vibe.

Best restaurant in the city. We go every single time we're in the city. Service is not friendly or welcoming but the food makes up for it.

Garibaldis' is one of my favorite spots in SF. I've frequented this place many times over the years and celebrated my 60th bday with 12 close friends. most of the time, its a great place to share a meal with family and friends. unfortunately we didnt have a good experience with the host this last Thanksgiving. We arrived on time for a 6pm rez. there were 2 tables that needed to be set so we knew we would be seated soon. 1 table was set immediately. but our table was not. we asked the host why, he rudely responded “we are very busy and ive been here since 2:30pm” then walked away in a huff. we were eventually seated. the guests for the other table showed up 20 minutes later. we don't mind the wait for our table especially when its busy, but the host could have been less acerbic.

Absolutely one of the strangest evenings- we finished our meal and at 9.45 he light of restaurant we put on fully and then we were tile at 9.55 that the restaurant was closing-on a Thursday night!. There were 4 tables left and we all had to leave! We'll never go back. Terrible, inhospitable, unprofessional...

We have celebrated November birthdays at Garibaldi's in Oakland or SF for more than 25 years, always ordering the marinated lamb loin. We even call to be sure they have enough for the four of us. It is so good we don't go pursuing false gods. With good luck and the stream don't rise, we'll be back next November.

Our entrees were excellent as well as the meatballs appetizer. The Caesar salad was lacking as well as one of the desserts was stodgy, the lemon muffin. Otherwise it was an enjoyable evening and the main courses were superb. We will return. Just hope they can improve on the Caesar salad in particular.
