My rating represents the food and value. I've been to many afternoon teas and the food at the palace was subpar — sandwiches lacked flavor, scones were eggy, and the desserts were dry but not in the good way. My partner and I felt like we were suffering to get to the finish. Tea was good though. I had the garden court blend and the nuances of vanilla could be tasted... unfortunately pairing it with the food interfered with the experience. Our server Ming was great though, he was attentive and answered any of our questions. We appreciated his help.
A lovely room with friendly if overwhelmed service. Sadly, 125 buys you corner-store sandwiches and mediocre cakes. Definitely not worth the price. The pretentious, obnoxious, self-absorbed clientelle did nothing to improve the experience.
The ambiance is nice but it's just not worth $125 + tip for a few sandwiches and a handful of desserts.
Waited a while for service, had to request to be served. Heard the harpist play happy birthday like 7 times which got annoying.
I've been wanting to go to the Garden Court for many years, and I finally got the chance to go this weekend. It was beautiful!! The tea service was good. The ambiance was amazing, and our waiter was very sweet. The one complaint, the price. For what we received in food and drinks, the $135 price per head was excessive. I think if the price was half that much, it would have been reasonable. This was a one-time experience for me, and I'm glad I went. But I would definitely consider being a returning customer if the price were decreased.
Incredible service and ambiance. It was like being in Europe or the Orient. The food was beautifully presented and tasty. The Desert cake for my wife's birthday was an incredible work of art.
Not great, pretty dingy. Trays all over the place, dirty glassware. When I think of this place now I think of mothballs and cobwebs. Old, dated, not polished. The food is barely average and no healthy options.
The place is historically beautiful and mesmerising one can spend hours sitting here. It’s so beautiful. I had dirty chai and strawberry dipped in chocolate from the counter just outside the GC where I mettthis amazing girl Anni. Next time I am going to stay in palace hotel for a day for just the royal historical experience

Where were all the flowers that beautified and popularized the Garden Court? Service was minimal and the food not worth the price tag for the buffet. Sadly, we were disappointed with the experience as it did not live up to our expectations. We will not be back again.
Mediocre breakfast buffet. I'm glad it was included in my room rate. I would not have paid any exorbidant cost for that breakfast. It was a very pretty area in the hotel though.

This place has gone down in time , and this last time is going to be my last visit for brunch, first of all I had made reservation for 10:15 and arrived 10:10 just in case , however end up to be told to stand in a long line with all the people who had no reservations , by the time I reached the hostess was 10:35!! Seated by 10:40 ! Very tight place and noisy , the food was poor quality , eggs were very cold , and everything looked old and dry , even bagels were tiny and not much variety , no berries in fruit sections either expected much more for $44 per person this I wouldn't pay more than $15 per person . I was quite embarrassed since I had invited a business client, and was very disappointed. Then had to pay another $30 for parking as well ... btw no fresh juice is served not even fresh squeezed OJ! Took about half hour to get the attention of the waiter to pay the bill and leave ! Horrible experience
Not worth the money. We went to a table that was dirty on the floor as well as my chair. One of the servers told me it was because a kid was there before me, but not sure how this was relevant as they should clean it before we were seated. The food was ok as they seemed to prepared and plated a while before serving. The placement looked like they came from IKEA. The tea was the only thing I like ( I had the Nobo Whole Fruit). For the price and where the tea place located, I felt underwhelming.
I went with my husband and the Hotel looks like a Palace, a lot of history was open in December 1909, we went for anniversary and at the end the server bring us a cake and told me happy birthday hahah definitely they need better comunication between hostess and servers, the bites were good but not exceptional, we finish paying $300 for both of us for Afternoon Tea without Champagne.
I have so many memories of meals and Afternoon Tea in The Garden Court and this visit did not disappoint. I had to celebrate my 70th birthday there! The room is historic and spectacular. The service was impeccable. Our breakfast was fabulous. The egg, bacon and toast cooked breakfast was perfectly presented. My goat cheese, onion and zucchini omelet was the best omelette I have ever had. The zucchini was sliced paper thin hence the eggs were not watery. The eggs were cooked which I appreciate yet they were light and fluffy. The 9-grain toast was delicious. The manager came over to say hello which was lovely. Our server Sam, was spectacular. He was very friendly, attentive but not obtrusive. This property is gorgeous and I highly recommend visiting and having a meal in The Garden Court.
The ambiance was beautiful, the tea sandwiches were fine and the desserts were comparable to a child's birthday. There were sprinkles and frosting on everything, highly sweetened and not complex in the least. I would expect a more sophisticated offering for the price point. I had been here in the past and this year the experience was lackluster. I don't believe I will be returning.
