Okay for an average Chinese place, but failed miserably as a Hubei specialty as it claimed. The Re'ganmian shows less than 15% similarity comparing to what it should be. Admittedly it was made of flour, but that's as far as it goes. The only person working there who seemed to care about the business was a waitress on her first day. And she was poorly (or lack of ) trained.

Kung pao chicken - the best in town.Twice cooked pork - meat too dry and everything else too oily. Will not order again.

Ordered takeout here during COVID and was very satisifed with the meal. I called to order the Mongolia beef and string beans - the food was ready for pickup in 10 minutes. Authentic and tasty!

Ironically this is one of the best General Tso's chicken places you can eat hence the name. Haven't sat in the restaurant because I've always picked up to go.

Pretty darn good. We tried their takeout while enjoying (!) our shelter in place. Let me particularly recommend the England and Potato dish. You might think "potatoes in Chinese cooking?" Well it works and it's yummy. All the vegetables are oven roasted first before a final wok with a sauce. Noodles also very good. Interestingly the General Tso's chicken was just meh. The sauce was great, but there was just too much bread coating for the amount of chicken. Can't wait to try other items. I see a trend in Chinese take out where prices are higher but the portions are increased. Three dishes from here fed two of us for dinner on two nights, plus there was still enough left for a single lunch. No complaints there.

We ordered delivery here and it was the perfect comfort food. The portions are very generous and the ingredients are fresh. The general Tso chicken was delicious and the texture was very yummy. Egg and tomato was decent given that it's generally hard to find this dish well made in general (can't compare to my parents'!). The veggie fried rice was standard and good. The standout item was the medicinal chicken soup which reminded me of what my grandma and mother make. It is nourishing and delicious, and includes some precious healing herbs that I recognize. I felt refreshed and nourished and slightly nostalgic after finishing it. I could tell that it was boiled the traditional way because the herb flavors were really infused in the soup.

My friend and I went to this place bc it was about 8:30 and most places were closed. General Tso Kitchen was opening and allowing walk-in takeout (during shelter-in-place). The food was done quick, it was fresh and delicious. I ordered the fried spring rolls and beef wrap for appetizers. The beef wrap was a few simple ingredients but worked so well. For the mains I ordered the house chow mian, fried crispy pork and Mongolian beef. The Mongolian beef blew me away. The beef was tender and fresh with delicious sauce. The chow mian also had fresh ingredients but not heavy with sauce. The pork was my least favorite dish but still way better than most Chinese food places. I just stumbled on this place but it blew my expectations out of the water. I will definitely be back and recommend for good, authentic Chinese.

Ordered their namesake dish (the general tso chicken) and it was very disappointing. Unsure if there was any meat beyond the hard batter. Also wreaked of vinegar. Rice was OK. Shrimp & leak dumplings were fine, but nothing to write home about.

The tripe is awesome!! We ordered one with pickled long bean and another spicy one!

Ordered Kung pao chicken on bento cart. Either the chef has never had Kung pop chicken or they don’t know how to make it. I'm pretty sure they made this with the chicken deep fried for general TSo. Never ordering from this.

I was in the city and stopped here for a quick late dinner based on decent Yelp reviews. The Mongolian Beef was good, but the Kung Pao chicken and spicy eggplant dish had similar seasonings and an unpleasant vinegar aftertaste. I'm really not much of a foodie, but have definitely had better.

Bring your to-go containers as you will want to order more to take leftovers home! On our way to our regular go-to Chinese restaurant on Geary, we passed by General Tso, and I am super glad we decided to give it a try, as it may be my new favorite Chinese restaurant in SF. I'd describe the cuisine as "DongBei" or Northern Style Chinese restaurant, which is a bit hard to come by in SF, as many of the Chinese restaurants are Cantonese. The meal starts with free sweet and sour soup. We had DaoXiao Noodles (Knife Cut), ZhaJiang Mian, and two lunch specials (both $9.95 and come with a hefty portion of rice and sauteed cabbage). And, they had an item on the menu TuDouSi (Silk Candied Sweet Potatoes). The only dish I probably wouldn't order again was the eggplant -- it was a little on the sweet side for my liking (I just like either minced pork or garlic with my eggplant), but some people definitely like it this style.

$8 for tea leaf broth and a small piece of chicken? Ordered this bc they were out of everything that called for rice noodles...which is about half their menu.
