Just moved to the area and needed some food to tide me over while I'm still moving into my apartment. Got the Lamb Tikka Masala & and order of Somosas and was REALLY impressed. Can't wait to come back!

Golden Gate Indian Cuisine and Pizza has been my rock for the last 5 years. I swear their food has cured hangovers, the flu, heartache, and bad days. I have only ordered take out, but feel very welcomed by the owners and staff every time I pick up. So much so, that my fiancé and I are catering our welcome event through them. Here’s our go-to order: 1. Veggie Pakora 2.Bindi Masala (my personal favorite) 3. Lamb Biryani (Fiancé’s favorite) 4. Vegetarian Tiki Masala 5. Naan/ Garlic Naan/ Onion Kulcha.

so I am not really into Indian food but my wife was like you should try this spot and OH MY GOD. I really enjoyed eating at this Indian restaurant. The place felt cozy and the staff were kind and helpful. Everything we ordered came out hot and full of flavor. My favorites were the chicken tikka masala and the vegetable biryani. The chicken was tender with a creamy sauce, and the biryani had the right mix of spices. The cheese naan was soft and cheesy, and it went great with the curries. We also tried the pakoras as an appetizer, which were crunchy and tasty. For dessert, the mango lassi was soooo refreshing. the food was delicious, the service was fast, and I’d recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys Indian food or wants to try it for the first time like me.

A hole in the wall restaurant with a lot of charm and the folks were friendly. Went on a Thursday evening and had Indian food. Loved the lamb korma especially the lamb cubes were so tender. Another party had pizza so we will have to go back and try that.

Now, it was a Wednesday evening of some distinction, not by weather nor society, but by the simple fact that I found myself—post-yoga, soul cleansed and stomach empty—ambling toward the end of Judah Street, where the mighty ocean hums lullabies to weary cityfolk.
I was hunting supper. Not a banquet, mind you, but something honest, warm, and preferably involving potatoes. The city had gone quiet, the stars blinked over the Sunset, and there—like a lighthouse to the hungry—I spotted Golden Gate Indian Cuisine & Pizza, its modest sign glowing like the answer to a question I didn’t know I’d asked.
They had a table out front. Just one. It sat lonely and noble, like a sheriff on night patrol. I claimed it.
I ordered as follows:
— Two samosas, firm and golden, filled with mashed potato and what I suspect was the exact pea from Eden.
— A Flying Horse Royal Lager, tall and cold, and brewed with the kind of discipline I wish more men possessed.
— And the crowning glory: a Vegetarian Masala Pizza. A creation I could only describe as what would happen if Naples and New Delhi had a love child and raised it in the California sun.
The pizza was not spicy—not fiery, not arrogant—but gentle and fragrant, a kind of masala lullaby. The crust was proper, not a chewy affair, and the toppings fresh as if they’d been plucked from a garden behind the kitchen. For those who desire more heat (and I do), they’ll kindly provide a tray of extra spices with the gravity of a spice bazaar in miniature.
Service? Friendly and sincere. None of your slick nonsense. Just warm folks who care if you’re fed.
And here’s the part most don’t mention: they’re open late. That’s a kindness rare in these parts. If your yoga ends after nine, or you’ve just stared at the sea wondering where your life went sideways, they’ll still serve you—with a smile, a samosa, and a seat beneath the stars.
For couples: maybe grab takeout and charm each other over Netflix. But if you’re solo—an adventurer, a wanderer, or a humble storyteller—this little table by the wall is perfect. The kind of table where stories begin and indigestion never follows.
Highly recommended. And that’s no small praise from a man who’s dined with generals, fools, and the occasional ghost.

I’ve enjoyed Indian cuisine all over San Francisco, but unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had. The dal makhani was unusually sour and totally lacked flavor, and the saag aloo was aggressively spiced with too much cardamom and tasted old—there was one lone potato in the entire dish. It felt like I got the bottom-of-the-barrel leftovers from March.
To be fair, my partner liked his Chicken Biryani, and salad. I just had bad luck with what I ordered. Still, it’s hard to overlook how uneven the experience was.
Service was almost comically bad—we were the only ones there on a windy Tuesday night, but it still took about 20 minutes just to get water. No one ever checked in to see how our food was, and we had to ask for the bill three times before someone brought it over.
I rarely write negative reviews, but I left feeling both disappointed and ill. I hope this place can turn things around, because right now it feels like their hearts just aren't in it.

As we entered the restaurant, there were no guests. We still chose it for dinner.
The restaurant is family run.
The food was delicious, we had the Chicken Makhanwala (butter chicken) and garlic Naan bread. Be careful, the rice is not included, you have to order it separately for 4$. They gave us free tap water.
The service could be better, the young lady only came to take the orders and serve the food.
We got free wifi.
The price is a little high for the amount you get but I would still recommend going there!

It’s a nice family owned restaurant with great service and many options. The Indian food is not at the level of the best I’ve had in the Bay Area, but it is close hits the spot.
