ordered 1 bag two weeks ago. I've yet to receive it. Amazon ruined expected shipping time I get that, but two weeks? the juice better be worth the squeeze cause I'm beyond irritated thus far.
I am a coffee snob, OK? I heat up my coffee mug before I pour coffee into it. I toss coffee out if it’s too weak or has a questionable aftertaste. And I do NOT put anything in my coffee except whole milk or cream. You see what I mean?
I’ve basically painted an unflattering—but honest—picture of myself as a coffee drinker. But here’s the thing: I only drink two or three cups a day, and I want every one of them—especially the first—to be damned right.
That’s where Graffeo Coffee Roasting Company comes in.
Graffeo roasts their beans just right, and they’ve been doing it since 1935. In a world where coffee trends change every month, Graffeo remains proudly old-school: small-batch, no gimmicks, no Instagram drink specials—just consistently excellent coffee. I love their Dark Roast, which works beautifully for both drip and espresso. They roast their beans right on site, and when you walk in, the heavenly smell of fresh coffee hits you like an angel’s wing. It’s worth stopping by just for that moment alone.
Buy a half-pound of whole beans, take them home, grind only what you need for a single serving*, make your coffee right away, and savor the taste. You’ll understand why this little roastery has survived nearly a century while others have come and gone.
And for the love of good coffee, never grind your beans days in advance. Ground coffee absorbs smells like a sponge. You do NOT want your morning cup tasting like the salmon you cooked last night, do you?
Also worth noting: Graffeo keeps things simple—no café seating, no complicated menu, and yes, still cash or check only at their original North Beach shop. But honestly, it fits their vibe perfectly. They focus on what they do best: roasting outstanding coffee.
Amazingly good coffee, the best I've ever had, and the customer care and support I received for an issue with an online order was light years beyond anything I've ever experienced!

Excellent dark roast decaf. Love it.
First time trying Graffeo Coffee Roasting. I decided to purchase the dark roast beans. I am so happy with this coffee. I usually use cream in my coffee. One day I ran out of cream, so I decided to try it black. I thought the coffee was smooth and robust and great to the last drop. I think a coffee should taste the same from the first to the last sip without changing. This coffee past this test with 5 star quality. I highly recommend that you visit or even order online this epic coffee.
We purchased a light roast, but it is so far from being a light roast. I would put it to medium dark to dark. I wouldn't buy it ever again.
A great tasting coffee for sure!
Great story and marketing, coffee isn't good though. Perhaps better fresher/beans are needed, although it's hard to know what origin or type of beans they are; not listed on website. Roasting method seems solid.
I’ve been a fan for years, but lately the beans don’t taste as smooth and rich as before — maybe the supplier or blend has changed.

Great local coffee roaster.
Some of the best dark roast coffee I've ever had. Friendly service and reasonable prices.
Not to be hyperbolic, but this might be the best coffee I’ve ever had.
Perfect Gem
